ALBANY — GOP gubernatorial wannabe Rob Astorino accused Mayor de Blasio Thursday of measuring success by “how many people are on welfare.”

Speaking to the New York Observer editorial board, Astorino made the comments while criticizing de Blasio and other liberals for trying to keep Walmart out of New York City.

“Success shouldn’t be measured by how many people are on welfare, which I think de Blasio sees success as,” he said.
