Over the last quarter of a century, wealth distribution in the U.S. has gotten worse.

This year, rising inequality–and the falling inter-generational mobility that goes along with it–has really reared its head in America and Europe, framing political debates.

One of the few things that U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican challenger Donald Trump have in common is they both want to raise the minimum wage, to help narrow the income gap. Some even say that it was anger over rising inequality that drove the U.K. to vote to leave the European Union.
