AMC Career Counselor Registration Form
The National Taleem Department is reaching out to professionals within the USA jamaat to help high school and college students with career counseling. Our goal is to highlight career options in various fields that are best-suited for our children in the coming decades. For example, if a student is interested in engineering generally, what are some of the most exciting areas within various engineering options? We would like to give students overviews of different careers and professions so they can make a more informed decision. For example, what is the range of career options after law school? How should one best prepare oneself at the high school and college level? We would also like to highlight exciting career options that may not otherwise be on the radar for most students. For example, what does a career in research look like? How does one become a successful entrepreneur, or build a company? What is a data-scientist? How does one enter public-service, or run for public office? How can one enter public policy? How does one work in the non-profit sector, working on social issues?
What is the time commitment for a career counselor? We will not burden you with excessive requests. The main request is that you be willing to do ONE conference call with students from across the country at a time of your choosing. The National Taleem Department with help organize and invite students to your conference call. As part of this conference call, you may prepare a short presentation to be shared with students. After your presentation about your specific expertise and career guidance, we will have an open Q/A with students. The National Taleem Department will take minutes and combine the presentation and conference call discussion into a document to be put online for the benefit of members at large.
