Gratitude is when we appreciate something that has come our way.
Think back when you were little and someone gave a gift or a kindness and your Mom or Dad reminded you “Now what do you say?” and you pushed out a monotone “Thanks,”

I remember this because I always felt embarrassed if they had to remind me.. because like it says it's being polite not grateful.
When someone does a huge favor for me, or helps me out with something..
The last time I felt grateful was 2 days ago when my mom took me out to get candy and icecream.
I cherish my necklace my older brother gave to my because we were not very close then one day he came home and gave it to me out of nowhere. And now since he left 2 months ago fro the Army I wear it everyday.
I was in a bad situation that I didn't want to be in, so I called my brother and he came and picked me up.
We had to make a cold connection in art class, and I wanted to make my brother something since I hadn't seen him in about a month.. So I made an X that says ohana means family.. the X is because our 2 families intersected together to make one big family. (we are step siblings)

Gratitude isn't playing by the rules.
I always heard it when I was little, my mom always used to tell me that I should feel grateful for all the things in my life, you never really felt true gratitude toward something until you lose it all.
I really felt appreciative toward my Aunt when she supported me when I did something that nobody else supported me in.
Something given to me that I truly cherish is the ring given to me by great grandma.
My dad really helped me out when I was having a tough time in school when I was in the sixth grade.
When I was little I always used to make cards for people in my family.

If you feel you have to pay someone back, then you’re not feeling grateful, you’re feeling indebted, which feels unpleasant.


I remember when someone has done something good for me and I was grateful for it until I realized I should also do something for them, too.
I feel appreciative of my dad every time he practices with me because he is busy a lot, so when he takes time to play softball with me because that's something I really love to do, it makes me happy.
I got a bracelet that my grandma owned when she was still alive. My dad got it for her and it meant a lot to her and I'm really happy that I have it now.
I was having a hard time trying to get my aim down with my speed when pitching for softball for a really long time and a girl that also pitches took time to help me until I got it.
My cousin is kind of hard to shop for so one year for Christmas I just put a ton of little things in a bag that I thought she would like. It wasn't anything special, mostly just her favorite candy and things form her favorite show and things like that.

I feel deeply appreciative when someone buys me something that i cant afford or don't have enough money.
When somebody buys me jewelry, I wear it everyday until its worn out.
When I arrive at work after school, someone had set everything out on the counter so I'm not rushing when i arrive their.
When it was Christmas I would make my very own pillow to give it to them.

Earlier this year, I was begging my parents over and over for an iPhone. So they finally gave in and took my brother and I to the store and bought us both new phones.
For my 14th birthday my best friend bought me this really expensive and really cute bag that I had wanted for a few months.
When I was little, I was trying to reach something on top of my bureau but since I was so short I had to stand on top of one of the drawers. The whole thing came crashing down and I was stuck. My mom had to come lift it off of me.
I painted my friend a very big picture of two holding hands.

I remember getting an amazing gift for my birthday, and then wanting to give the same person an amazing gift back when their birthday comes.
I was grateful when my brother did my chores for me so i could go to a friends house.
A gift I have been given was my great grandma's favorite necklace that she always wore.
My friend once helped me out because I didn't understand the homework that was due the next day.
A few days ago, for my friend's birthday, I decorated their room with balloons and streamers while she was at summer school, so when she got back, it was a mini surprise party in her bedroom.

Your older brother helps you get all your homework done before the weekend. It reminds me of when I help family and friends get work done and i feel good about what I have done.
When my parents do something that they don't want to just to make me have a better time.
My friend who lives in Spain has sent me a box of things and I am so thankful that she would do that.
I was not feeling so well one night and I sent a message to my friend and she stayed awake in the middle of the night for me.
I went online and I created a phone case with photos on it of my and my friend.

I feel very appreciative everyday. My parents do so much every day for me. For example, my mom cleans the house and buys my family food so we can live. She also does all of the bills so we can have things and a place to live. My dad does things for my family even when he doesn't want to.
The most cherished thing that I have ever gotten as a gift was definitely my room. For graduation, my parents decided that they would give me dinner and I can redo my room. Whenever I walk into my room, I think about how happy I am. I also think about graduation night.
In seventh grade, I had a really hard time with friends. I would come home crying because of the thing people were saying. My sister helped me through all of the problems and I can't thank her enough for it.
For my friends birthday, Siera, I decided to make her a GIANT card and give her a lot of things that were inside jokes between us. She loved it because you don't get a giant card everyday.

I remember doing this as a kid, and looking back on it I feel like I could've been more grateful since I was even receiving anything from anybody, because they didn't HAVE to give me anything.
One time my grandma bought me a very expensive gift and I was very appreciative because I know how hard she works and it's all for me and my brother.
My friend gave me a stuffed cat and I truly cherish it because although it was probably cheap, he saw it and thought of me which makes me love it so much.
My brother helps me out all the time whenever I have any troubles with homework, my computer, or with friends. He's always there for me even if he acts like he hates me.
One time my mom bought me a bracelet kit because she knows I'm creative and wanted me to make bracelets to sell. I kept putting it off and off for a long time until I realised her birthday was coming up, and I made her bracelets for her birthday. She was surprised because she thought I forgot all about the bracelets.

I am always very grateful for all of the things my mom does for me.
I cherish the heartfelt cards my friends give me on my birthdays.
Someone really helped me with my math which helped me excel in the class.
I always try to be creative for friends birthday gifts. I once gave my friend a stuffed sloth because she loves sloths. It was hard to find.

I felt really grateful when Mr. Mengel helped me through troubles that I was dealing with. He helped me get a lot better and it was an amazing thing, being able to talk to an adult who cares.
My aunt gave me this necklace, the last thing she gave me before she died, I never wear it out but I have it in a safe place and whenever I'm sad I put in on and think about how my aunt would want me to act.
My friend helped me move/pack when I was moving into my house because I'm injured and couldn't really do it.
I'm usually creative when I give gifts because I always think about what the person likes, and how I know them. My dad lost all of my baby pictures when he moved so last Christmas I made a collage of them and I started a photo album for him and he cried.

I felt greatly appetitive when my friends decorated my locker for my birthday I felt really special inside
The gift my cousin gave me of a recommendation of The Hunger Games which made me become a reader and with out it and if she didn't give me that recommendation I wouldn't be a a good student
When I had a project in 5th grade and we had to build a vehicle out explorer traved in he helped me build a wagon and it was really cool and I got an A
For one of my friends birthday cards I took a pack of playing cards and did 52 to things I love about you and had to come up with 52 things I liked about them.
But it is so much fun

I remember my mom paying for a car behind her in a drive thur and that person did the same thing not sure if it kept going tho
My mom shes always there or me and does things for me doesn't miss any of my football games or track meets shes helped my get my eagle as well
I cherish my mother because she was given to me by my grandmother
My brother helped me on how to find deer in the woods by just walking
To my girlfriend im always creative about asking her to prom or homecoming and other things to just to make her happy
