The chief of the Paris Police Department pleaded not guilty to an OUI charge in Bridgton District Court Tuesday morning.Chief Michael Madden's lawyer entered the plea on his client's behalf. Madden did not appear in court.The case has been moved to Cumberland County Court in Portland.A Cumberland County sheriff's deputy pulled Chief Michael Madden over along Route 302 in Naples on Nov. 21.According to the Sheriff's Department, Madden was driving his personal car and did not have any passengers with him.Officials said he was cooperative, but failed a sobriety test.Paris town officials said at the time that Madden was taking paid vacation.
