Blue Devils Capture ShopRite Cup

One of the greatest school years in Shore Conference history was rewarded when Shore Regional High School was awarded the ShopRite Cup during a ceremony in the Blue Devils gymnasium.  The Blue Devils received the honor for the athletic supremacy they displayed among Group 1 schools in New Jersey during the 2014-15 school year.  ShopRite in conjunction with the NJSIAA recognize the top teams in Groups 1, II, III, IV, Non-Public 1 Group A and B.  Points go to schools that earn sectional and state championships with bonus points for those that go without any disqualifications for each season (fall, winter, spring).

Shore Regional wound up with the highest total for a Group 1 school in the history of the ShopRite Cup which goes back to 2004.  The Blue Devils won sectional championships in nine sports…Football, Boys & Girls Soccer, Boys & Girls Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Field Hockey, Boys Basketball and Girls Lacrosse.  They also captured the overall Group 1 state championship in field hockey.

Blue Devils Assistant Principal/Athletic Director Harry S. Chebookjian III said “winning the ShopRite Cup is the ultimate honor in New Jersey high school athletics” and added that the award “symbolizes the commitment of our student-athletes, coaches, administration, Board of Education and community to our athletics program and to developing a well-rounded student.”

Shore joins Christian Brothers Academy who earlier was honored for winning in

Non-Public A, the sixth time the Colts have received the ShopRite Cup.
