A man has been charged with the murder of a couple who were found stabbed at their home in Surrey.

The bodies of Patrick and Gillian Kettyle, both in their 50s, were discovered in the village of Fetcham, in the early hours of Thursday.

Lithuanian Viktoras Bruzas, 38, who was arrested in nearby Oxshott on suspicion of murder, was charged late on Friday.

Mr Bruzas, a builder from Walton-on-Thames, is due to appear at South East Surrey magistrates in Redhill later.

The Kettyles were found dead at their home shortly after midnight on Thursday by a member of their family.

Det Supt Nick May said they were killed in a "significant, violent and sustained" attack.

A man in his 30s who was arrested at a property in Walton-on-Thames on Thursday was released with no further action taken against him, police said.
