There's an ironic twist in the case involving two APD officers charged with murder.A judge just slapped Special Prosecutor Randi McGinn with a $500 fine because she wants to delay the case so she can attend a wedding in China.The trial was set for August. The judge OK'd moving it back a month, but wasn't happy about it.Action 7 News obtained court documents showing Judge Alisa Hadfield said the wedding was not a good reason to delay this case and slapped McGinn with a $500 fine. Here's the ironic part -- McGinn is married to State Supreme Court Justice Charlie Daniels. Daniels was instrumental in pushing for new speedy trial rules, saying cases were not moving through the courts fast enough in New Mexico.APD officers Keith Sandy and Dominique Perez shot and killed James Boyd after an hours long standoff in the foothills of Albuquerque in 2014. The defense said they were providing cover and opened fire to protect a fellow officer from Boyd, a man with a long and violent history who was armed with knives, while police tried to take him into custody.Prosecutors maintain that a deadly shooting wasn't the only outcome.Last fall another Judge ruled there was enough evidence to move forward in the case against the two officers. Sandy has since retired. Perez was terminated after he was criminally charged.

A judge just slapped Special Prosecutor Randi McGinn with a $500 fine because she wants to delay the case so she can attend a wedding in China.

The trial was set for August. The judge OK'd moving it back a month, but wasn't happy about it.
