Daniel Craig could be swapping James Bond for Star Wars if Simon Pegg is to be believed.

The Star Trek actor may have accidentally revealed that Craig filmed scenes as a hidden Stormtrooper in new movie The Force Awakens.

Speaking at the London premiere of his new film Man Up, Pegg spoke about his rumoured role in JJ Abrams's upcoming Star Wars film.

"I wasn't a Stormtrooper," he told The Sun. "Daniel Craig - he was a Stormtrooper!"

He quickly retracted his comments, saying: "I shouldn't have said that."

Last year, it was reported that Craig could be shooting a secret cameo in the film, but that his face will be hidden.

Craig is currently filming the latest James Bond film Spectre, which will be released at cinemas on October 23.
