Stephen Mycoe

About the author

Steve's first book 'Unlimited Sports Success- the Power of Hypnosis' was published in 2001 and documents his work with athletes. Currently still in print (search for ISBN: 0595186106). As a teenager at School, Steve sustained a hand injury severing his right ring finger almost losing it altogether. Fortunately surgeons were able to suture the said digit back on leaving him with permanent partial sensation and associated 'real' and projected pains. This life event had an influence decades later with pain control, phantom limb pain and nerve sensations becoming an interest of his, eventually leading Mycoe to conduct Psychological research involving amputees mainly using Hypnosis to assist with sports pain control to focus whilst in pain, also becoming the basis of his latest book. Steve is one of the only Hypnotherapists in the UK who works almost exclusively with athletes and fitness enthusiasts. This makes him a sought after specialist in this area and often the first contact by Olympic teams and professional athletes. Steve has worked with professionals from all over the world including British, American and Chinese Olympic teams. His system has been used by Premiership football players, members of the Police shooting squad and TV personalities. Mycoe's work in sports and pain control has drawn him into the fascinating and complex world of adaptive sports. He is always delighted to hear from disabled athletes. Mycoe has published over 60 audio CD's and Four paperback books to date. www.SportsHypnosis.co.uk
