A Nokia-only section of the Windows Phone Marketplace is rolling out to owners of Nokia's Lumia line, according to recent reports. First spotted in France by Professor Thibault, the section has been seen under the name "Nokia Collection" as well as "Apps from Nokia," and serves as a central repository for apps Nokia has crafted specifically for its phones. It reportedly appears without user intervention, and while we haven't yet seen it on any of our devices, it is said to include five apps: Nokia Maps, Contacts Transfer, WRC Live, TuneIn Radio, and App Highlights.

It's important to note that this type of integration isn't unheard of: LG, Samsung, and HTC Windows Phone devices all feature manufacturer-specific Marketplace sections. Still, the integration of Nokia's app store with Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace was touted as an important strategic element when the companies announced their partnership in February. With an aggressive US rollout planned for 2012, we expect much more from their collaboration in the coming months — starting with new devices at CES.
