New York City just got a little sweeter, thanks to Taylor Swift

Shortly after the 24-year-old singer released her hit single "Welcome to New York," the pop star announced she would be donating all the proceeds from the song to New York City public schools.

And of course, T.Swift stayed true to her word, as officials at the Department of Education revealed on Tuesday that the "Blank Space" singer has already donated $50,000 to the NYC public school system.

What's more, a spokesperson tells E! News that this is not a one-time donation and Swift "will continue to donate the proceeds she receives from the sale of the single 'Welcome to New York' to NYC public schools."

Just when we thought Taylor Swift couldn't get any cooler...

"We're deeply appreciative of this kind gesture to donate her proceeds of the single ‘Welcome to New York' to benefit NYC public schools," Devora Kaye, the press secretary for the department of education tells E! News.

Taylor pledged to donate the proceeds during a previous appearance on The View back in October.  "It's selling really, really well," the former country crooner said of her Big Apple anthem. "Which is good because I'm donating all my proceeds to New York City public schools."

Since moving to New York nearly one year ago, the songstress has made no secret of her love for the city.

"Any time I talk to anyone or any time I do an interview, I'm like, 'You don't understand. You have to go there now. You have to go to New York. Just drop what you're doing, and go there. It's amazing. It's the greatest place ever," the New York transplant previously gushed on The Late Show. "And I guess the city picked up on that. They're like, 'She's the most enthusiastic, obnoxious person to ever love New York. She loves it with like 18 exclamation points afterward, underlined.'"

Just one week after the release of the hit single, the hitmaker was also named New York City's welcome ambassador

Safe to say she's doing her part to promote tourism. Props to Taylor Swift!
