Here's mine Favorite Smoothie Recipe Add yours to the discussion.

For best results, ensure that the mango used in this recipe is frozen before they are blended.

This recipe makes four to five servings

Ingredients

• 1 peeled and cut mango

• 11/4 cup pineapple juice

• 1/2 cup thick cream

• 1 can( 14 ounce) coconut milk

• 11/4 cup ice cubes

Directions:

Combine all the above items in a mixer and puree until smooth. Pour the smoothie in glasses and serve immediately.

Tropical fruits are generally avoided by people with diabetes due to their high sugar content. Smoothies make blood sugar rise very quickly because they do not have to be digested. This is something I would avoid.

That is really high in sugar..why something I love,
Low in calories and carbs. It's known to have cleansy, detoxing effect too
1 cup of almond milk
1/2 water
2 strawberry
1/4 cup of blackberries or fruits or your choice
1-2 cups of spinach
Lemon
Ginger
Mint leaves.
A little bit of sweetner
The whole thing would be about 100 calories or under with less than 10 g of carbs
Very energizing and refreshing too

Like AngelaY, I find green smoothies of amazing benefit (fruit and veg mixed, so you taste nothing but fruit, but it doesn't spike blood sugars - Google it, for more info).

I'm afraid the mango and lack of veg in the OP's original recipe would be very bad for my sugar levels. Although I am sure it would be delicious.

How about this instead:
100g fresh or frozen spinach
1 courgette
Handful of frozen pineapple chunks
1 apple
1/2 avocado (replaces the cream), or 6 macadamia nuts
Double handful of any berry you like.
A cup or two of water,

Blend til completely smooth
Drink before it reaches room temperature.

You will taste a lovely, creamy, fruity smoothy. It will be GREEN! It will give 6-8 portions of your 5aday, and a glass will send my blood glucose up by about 1.5 after 1 hour, back to normal after 2 hours.
