Is the Hanover location taking reservations?

      A:

I know that it was recently. I don't know if they changed it now that Gov. Baker lifted some more of the restrictions.

      Are they a BYOB?

      A:

No. BYOB is illegal in downtown Boston. There are only 3 legal BYOBs within Boston city limits, all in outlying neighborhoods.

This is a cash only restaurant. There's only around 20 seats but we were able to walk in on a Sunday around lunchtime.

They'll serve you bread as soon as you sit down. The house salad is super fresh and the veggies are crispy. Greater starter if you're wanting some greens. The black pasta and linguines are also good choices to order. They are served in the same pan used to cook the dish! The seafood platter was decent but not worth the price in my opinion. I'll probably just stick to the noodle/pasta dishes going forward.

I am so glad we went here for dinner, it was one of my favorite stops in Boston! We went on a Tuesday around 630 and there was a small line with 3 parties ahead of us. You have to wait outside. It was a cold day and we were debating on leaving when we saw there was only seating for about 14 people inside... we had no idea how long the lin3 would take. Luckily it didn't take too long, maybe 20 mins or so.
We were seated, served with water and bread and the server took our order. As other reviews have stated, this is a "no frills" restaurant. Your drinks are served in plastic cups. There's 3 employees, a server, a chef, and a dishwasher. You can see the whole operation behind the scenes with the open kitchen, which I thought was cool. Your food is served in the skillet it was cooked in. I think all of this made the restaurant unique!
The food was really good! I got the black pasta with Alfredo and it was to die for, the best pasta that I've had in a long time! My husband got the frutti di mare, and although he enjoyed it, he did wish that he didn't choose the white sauce (olive oil and clam juice).
Overall, we had a good, unique experience here and would definitely come back if we are in Boston again!

      **THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY**
Well worth the hype/wait! I fortunately beat the rush of people waiting patiently outside. One thing to note before I start my review is before you order,

make you sure you order EVERYTHING you want in ONE sitting. they only do one ticket for parties and don't do multiple orders because of their waits.

Fried calamari (9/10): honestly, not my favorite breading in the world, but they do not skimp on the amount of calamari in that basket. With a squeeze of lemon and their homemade marinara sauce on the side, this is a wonderful appetizer to start. Enough to split between 3 people!
Swordfish (10/10): oh my god??? The texture of this fish is wonderful. My first time having it, when my friend cut into it, I was like, "oh my gosh it cuts like chicken!" It is a very meaty, mildly sweet white fish that paired so well with the sundried tomatoes basil sauce and mushrooms. So hearty. You must order this when you go, these swordfish steaks were amazing.
Scallop linguine with white sauce (10/10): I'm not even an enjoyer of pasta, but this, this was divine. Served in a pan right off the stove, the scallops were plush, bathed in the amazing balance of garlic, dry wine, cilantro, and oil. My only regret is not ordering a second pan.

This place is small, unsuspecting even, but do not be fooled by the size. Folks will be crowding outside to get a spot at a table. It is cozy in its small nature as well as its seating; sat at a large table with my friends and strangers, and it made a lovely dinner. Open kitchen where you can watch the chefs prepare your meals, basically marinating in the aroma of high quality pastas and seafood. I would love to come here again to try their monkfish dish.

We went there on a Friday night. It gets busy and you have to wait in line outside so come early and with enough layer to not get cold. One chef, one server, one buser/dishwasher and you in the middle of it all surrounded with other people sharing this experience with you. It's intimate, cozy and in constant movement.
We shared the Calamari Platter as an appetizer and then the Lobster Fra Diavolo. The Calamari Platter was amazing, we loved trying a little bit of everything. Their fried calamari is phenomenal, their calamari salade was really good and refreshing. We loved the texture of the calamari meatballs and the stuffed calamari was tasty as well. Then we shared the Lobster Fra Diavolo for two, it's a beautiful presentation! The noodles are great texture and perfectly cooked. It was a little spicier than I thought it would be but not in a bad way. The seafood was great, their clams were tasty! We both enjoyed our night and had a great experience at the daily catch!

Line up before they open to avoid long wait, you won't regret it!

Came here twice during my last visit in Boston (the only restaurant made me want to revisit within the week), both times with no wait as they were during the week and we arrived little before 11am opening time.

It's a small place ran by only 3 people, server, chef and dish washer. It's cool to watch the chef cook in the open kitchen. Service is quick with no bs. Be prepared to come with cash as it's the only payment accepted!

While everything we tried was all superb, black pasta was my favorite! I have dreams about it...

Can't wait to come back during future visits in Boston!

Wanted to try the Daily Catch for dinner while we were in Boston. In hindsight should've went to the other one because we legit waited for over 90 minutes to be seated and eat. The interior is small and could fit a total of like 20 people max. The kitchen is open concept so you can see all the fresh seafood being prepared and cooked.

The food however was really good. Not sure if it's because we waited so long and were hungry or if the food truly was delicious, but either way we enjoyed it. The fried calamari was done well and keeled us over as we waited for the pasta. The seafood in each dish was very good. The scallops were tender, the vongole was huge, and the shrimps were bouncy. The only things is the linguine was very mediocre. It's not hand made and I think was slightly over cooked.

The squid ink pasta though was delicious. The texture was great and flavor went really well with the sauce. DEFINITELY get squid ink pasta, it's well worth the extra cost upgrade.

The regular linguine and the long wait are the only reason why it's a 4 star. I'd recommend trying out the other daily catch if there's a long wait at this one.

I've been to both places in North End and by the Wharf. The one in North End is smaller, less tables; therefore, longer wait. It's cash only.
The one by the Wharf is larger, more tables; therefore, shorter wait, and it takes credit card.
However, for some reasons, I find the clams and linguine dish tastes better in the original one in North End. That dish has given me the inspiration to cook clams and linguine at home.
Every time I go back to Boston, I always make plan to have dinner at Daily Catch for Italian Seafood dishes.

This place was definitely worth the wait! Very small seating area and they don't take reservations or have a waiting list, so you have to wait in line until a spot is available. Luckily we were the first in line so we were sat immediately once a spot opened up. Can get pretty loud because of the small area, but still a great dinner spot that feels intimate.

Ordered the calamari, lobster fra diavolo dish for two, and the squid ink pasta. The squid ink pasta is the best I've had, especially paired with the spicy vinaigrette.

Service was great and super friendly. I think anything you order would be tasty here. Visit here if you have the opportunity to and would love to come back when in town.

Phenomenal food!! We wait for a bit in line (I did not know this is the original location and the waterfront location has less people/is bigger/takes reservations) but regardless,, it's was worth it!! Such great quality pasta and such fresh seafood. My favorite was the vongole paService was superb and I was entranced by the chef cooking. Would definitely recommend and would come back next time I'm in Boston!

We visited the Daily Catch on New Year's night. Our last night in Boston after touring Boston College. I have seen travel videos and many recommend the Daily Catch. I didn't realize how small it is. We were quickly seated, luckily at a table with a side view of the small kitchen. I was able to watch the master craftsman, Chef Jimmy Lee cook! Between the three of us, we had a half order of Homemade black squid ink pasta aglio olio and ground calamari. Also the Lobster Fra Diavolo, which was divine, delicious - even the mussels, and I don't really like mussels. It was really cool to see Chef Jimmy cook, I'm sure he has done each menu item thousands of times. He made cooking look easy, but I know it's not. The service was top notch, tonight only a three man operation, Chef, waiter, and kitchen helper. Each one did his job spectacularly. A neighboring restaurant worker came in for change, he wanted $20s which the waiter kindly obliged. Then the neighbor returned with some ice coffees. It's cool how the neighbors support each other. I soon found that there are two other Daily Catch locations. I am really glad to have visited, and we enjoyed the food very much!
