Netflix announced today that subscribers can now access its "Just for Kids" option, designed for the 12-and-younger crowd, on the Xbox 360.

Parents can now breathe a little easier when their kids switch on the Xbox 360, knowing there are age-appropriate programs at the ready.

"With Netflix Just for Kids it's easy for my kids and yours alike to stay in a safe area for their television viewing when using Xbox 360," Netflix's director of product innovation, David Watson, said in a blog post.

The commercial-free programs include popular TV shows like Spongebob Square Pants, Dora the Explorer, and Phineas and Ferb, as well as various family-friendly movies.

Netflix launched its "Just for Kids" feature , adding a kid-specific tab to Watch Instantly streaming service. The page organizes programs into kid-favorite genres like talking animals, superheroes, dinosaurs, princesses, and robots. Kids can also recognize shows by sorted icons, including pictures of main characters, like Sesame Street's Big Bird or Thomas the Tank Engine.

The feature debuted on the PC and Mac, then later added support for the Nintendo Wii, Apple TV, PlayStation 3, and iPad.
