A BRADFORD man who admitted 20 charges of copying counterfeit DVDs will be sentenced at Crown Court next month.
Shahid Ali, 33, pleaded guilty to possessing goods with a false trademark at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court yesterday.
The charges relate to DVDs found in Ali's possession at Movie Palace on Manchester Road, Bradford, on January 7 last year.
Prosecutor Stephen Rushton told the court that due to where the items were seized and the number of DVDs involved, there was a suggestion Ali was involved in distribution of the counterfeit material.
The DVD titles listed in the charges included films such as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Dumb and Dumber 2, and TV shows including Breaking Bad and Top Gear.
District Judge Richard Clews told Ali, of Dudley Street, Wakefield Road, Bradford: "Due to the nature and extent of these offences, the sentencing powers of this court are insufficient."
Ali was granted unconditional bail ahead of a hearing at Bradford Crown Court on April 12.
