Drug and weapons charges, Ingham

Detectives from Ingham Criminal Investigation Branch this afternoon charged a local man with a number of drug and weapon offences following the search of an Ingham residence yesterday.

Police attended a home in Atkinson Street around midday where it will be alleged they located a quantity of dried cannabis, ammunition, a conductive energy device, a rifle, knives, gun powder and a number of hazardous chemicals.

These items were seized by police.

A 52-year-old man has been charged with six counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of possessing a dangerous drug, two counts of possessing explosives and one count each of unlawful possession of a firearm, manufacturing explosives and breaching the Nature Conservation Act.

He is due to appear in the Ingham Magistrates Court on September 8.
