They kicked off the North American leg of their Where We Are world tour with a bang at Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Friday night.
But Liam Payne was clearly taking a break from his gruelling fitness routine and healthy lifestyle plan on Saturday as he puffed away on a cigarette from the comfort of his hotel balcony in Toronto, Canada.
The shirtless hunk scowled at the cameras as he lit up his morning fag and listened to his mobile phone messages ahead of the boy band's second gig in the city.

After 15 minutes of smoking in silence, the brooding Midnight Memories singer then lit up a second cigarette, wearing nothing but navy tracksuit bottoms that showed off his tan.

Liam, 20, also popped out onto the balcony later on in the day with his bodyguard as they gazed out at the sea of adoring female fans waiting outside 1D's hotel.
His moodiness no doubt stems from the fact he has just returned from a romantic holiday with his girlfriend Sophia Smith in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, France.

The couple packed on the PDA as they enjoyed the Mediterranean sun on board a yacht, cuddling up on the deck and splashing around together in the water.
Liam and Sophia have been dating since 2013, confirming they were back on in June after a brief break.
The couple have known each other for much of their lives, having grown up in Wolverhampton together.
However, the lovesick singer couldn't pine over Sophia for long, since the boys were back on stage last night performing in front of a 54,000-strong crowd.

And it seemed the concert had cheered Liam up since he posted on Twitter: 'Great show tonight Toronto I look forward to tomorrow.'
The band - also formed of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan - took time out from belting out their chart-topping hits to thank their loyal fans for their ongoing support.
According to MTV, Zayn told the crowd: 'It’s pretty weird and pretty amazing. Thank you so much we wouldn’t be able to do it without you.'
