(PIX11) — NYPD commissioner Bill Bratton and Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence of the NYPD John Miller share their thoughts on fears, safety, and other topics of concern regarding terrorism Thursday, the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

Bratton reassured New Yorkers that they “should feel very safe” and “there should not be a fear. There should be awareness.”

“We have some incredibly, dedicated, highly-trained, motivated individuals in our intelligence counter-terrorism units,” he said of NYPD and its ranks.

Miller echoed those sentiments, saying New York City is a safe metropolis though because of its high profile, it will always be a target for those wanting to do harm.

“It’s a complicated threat environment,” he said.
