I love reading romance books! I feel like being able to lose yourself in a book in one of the more exciting aspects. The books I love to read and write will be ones that make you feel for the characters. You should have an opinion on every character in a book. Whether you love them, hate them, or think they are up to something.

I live in Levittown Pennsylvania ,with my two kids, and two dogs. On top of starting a writing career I am a full time teacher, and a full time mom. I love spending time with my kids, although I have to hide the computer from them when I am writing! I love being active and being able to do any activity outdoors.

I have always thought as an author the most important critic is your reader, so I would love to hear from you. If you read the book and loved it or hated it, tell me. As long as it is in a constructive way I will always answer and interact with you. I want fans to feel free to tell me what they want for the characters in the story and what they want to see happen.

Appalling compromise btwn feel good and abuse

Sugary take on abused college woman finding love and self-esteem.. I'm not A shrink, but this superficial fairy tale take on young love healing the scars from long-term profound abuse can not be read as remotely likely/realistic. In fact it comes across as a cynical construction where past horrors are served up as emotional titillation in order to enhance the true love conquers all romance message. I am all for feel good endings, and romantic novels inevitably suspend reality, but to trivialise rape, paedofelia, abandonment and child slavery to this extent is both deeply offensive and unnecessary. One profoundly abusive experience would be sufficient for the plot, and in real life a hughe challenge to overcome for a person without emotional resources . A plethora of debilitating experiences is overkill, and the simplistic solution of a supportive teen boyfriend is insulting to the reader and genuine victims of circumstance/abuse alike. To add insult, and presumably in order to make the novel palatable to young adult readers, the writing is turgid as the author does not dare convey the likely menace, despair and claustrophobia that a person experiencing the storyline would feel, (or does not have the skills to allude to it without upsetting readers). Can not really recommend something as disingenuous as this to anybody as there are numerous better written sugary love /feel good stories out there,. And equally many excellent books with insightful and motivational stories about overcoming hardships that neither trivialise the issues nor condescend to the readers.

Madison has had a hard life: her mother died when she was 4 and her father became an alcoholic so she was taken by the state at 7 and sent to 6 different foster homes. Her boyfriend Chris and her decide to attend Duke together. Madison runs into Carter, "Greek God" on her way to class. Madison and Carter have an instant connection and her relationship with Chris is anything but ideal.

I don't to give anything away but when Madison is not invited home for Thanksgiving she ends up going home with Carter where they begin to pursue their relationship.

As a warning there are instances of domestic violence and sexual assault.

On a high note there is also a protective, swoon-worthy, loyal alpha male that will pull at your heart strings. Madison finally realizes that she is good enough to have someone look out for her that she can lean on and Carter takes on that role with pride. I absolutely love Carter's friends Shawn and Jason and how they take on their roles to help protect Madison. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

What a story!! Wish it were longer.

Madison came from an abusive childhood, left shattered and alone. She is put through several foster homes too but was abused in them also. In high school she meets Chris and they date and after graduation, she follows him to college. Chris is not a good boyfriend, he's an abuser, both physically and mentally.

On the first day of college Madison literally runs into Carter and is knocked to the ground. Carter helps her father her things but one look in her eyes and he feels things he's never felt meeting a girl before. They end up having all morning classes together and he gets to know her a little better, until Chris sees them together and forbids Madison to speak to Chris.

The pull the both feel for each other becomes too strong and the two agree to see each other secretly. The two really connect and spend the holidays together. Chris becomes more abusive when Madison breaks things off with him.

Madison has a lot of "firsts" with Carter and he's madly in love with her and showing her the simple things involved in a relationship. Madison finally trusts Carter and his small circle of friends, who adopt Madison as a sister and help to protect her from Chris' crazy stunts to try to get her back.

Quite a crazy roller coaster but Carter is the ultimate romantic boyfriend, never pushing too far but helping Maddie become a more confident person.
