渋谷ヒカリエ8Fにて。
ずいぶん前に表参道でやった展覧会以来ということになる（調べてみるとずいぶん何度も日本で展覧会やってるのね）。
あれは油彩でほぼキャンバスを黒っぽく塗りつぶし、そこに活字を切り取ったものを貼り付けたという体裁の作品が主だったが、今回は水彩とリトグラフ。黒っぽいモノトーンに文字が書かれている(それがタイトルを兼ねている)のは一緒。映画と違って原色はまず使わない(ただ「ブルーベルベット」のオープニングのように原色はウソ臭い世界に使われる)。
一枚20万円前後のが多く、版画だからには違いないけれど手が届く価格で事実あらかた買い手がついていた。変態リンちゃん、人気ありますね。ただこれが80万超となると売れてないから、正直なもの。
映画に比べて抽象に寄っている分、鉄錆の匂いが強いような印象。
同じ階に川本喜八郎の人形展もやってました。「三国志」と「平家物語」の人形で、「三国志」の方は仕事の依頼が来る前からもう吉川英治ので読んでいてカシラだけ作っていたという。辻村ジュサブロー展もまた見てみたいな。

「イレイザーヘッド」「ツイン・ピークス」「マルホランド・ドライブ」等の映画で知られる映画監督デヴィッド・リンチ。映画のみならず、絵画や写真、アニメーションや立体作品など、様々な方法で独自の表現活動を続けています。2007年に開催されたパリのカルティエ現代美術財団での個展は大成功を収め、日本では1991年、東京の東高現代美術館にてペインティングとドローイングの展覧会を行っています。8/ ART GALLERY/ Tomio Koyama Galleryの展示では、水彩、ドローイング、リトグラフを中心とした彼の最近の作品をご紹介致します。
David Lynch is a well-known movie director, known for such films as Eraserhead, Twin Peaks, and Mulholland Drive. He has also expressed his creative impulses in other mediums: painthing, photography, animation, and sculpture as well as film. His solo exhibition at Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris in 2007 was extremely successful. In Japan, he held a painting and drawing exhibition at the Toko Museum of Contemporary Art in 1991. This show at 8/ ART GALLERY/ Tomio Koyama Gallery showcases his latest work, focusing on watercolors, lithographs, and oil-paintings.

David Keith Lynch was born on January 20 in 1946 in Missoula, Montana. He enrolled at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1965, aiming to become a painter. Funded by AFI (American Film Institute), he completed the production of Eraserhead in 1977 after a period of five years. He went on to release The Elephant Man in 1980 which was nominated in eight categories at the Academy Awards, Blue Velvet in 1986 which was nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards, and Wild at Heart in 1990 which won the Palme d' Or at the Cannes Film Festival, while his TV series Twin Peaks which ran from 1989 to 1991 became a big hit all over the world. He has received France's Ce'sar Award for Best Foreign Film at the Cannes Film Festival in 2001 and in 2006, and was given the Golden Lion Award for lifetime achievement at the Venice Film Festival. His solo exhibition "The Air is on Fire" at Foundation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris in 2007 was highly successful. He is currently producing a documentary about the David Lynch Foundation of which he is also sponsor. Furthermore, he is currently making preparations for a new film, while also tirelessly committing to music production.
