I really don't know...

Wow...this was one hot mess.
I think I never read a manga before where pros and cons clashed that much - within one topic

Plot: starts good, ends good, everything in between is below mediocre. It's obvious the mangaka had no clue how to make up new stories for her characters, so even a broken vase had to serve as plot substitute. Even tho it's clearly BL, I enjoy a good story over erotic scenes. But the manga tended to give up on both pretty much when the story continued. I didn't keep anything special in mind from my read and will probably forget about it pretty soon.

Characters: While they seemed interesting at start, most of them never experienced any development due to the thin and rushed plot. You'd think 14 manga are enough to grow, but because the story switches between different couples, none really had the screen time they would have needed to shine. The worst was that from time to time, they were treated like actors, which completely ruined the immersion.

Art: goes from "amazing!" to "wth is that". Body proportions are perfect, I found it interesting that the guys were drawn more realistic than in most other cases. Most characters have recognisable traits(mainly the ukes), but some look so similar that you need to read their names to know who you have to deal with right now. While the faces are perfectly drawn from the front, they look like Jojo caricatures from the side, almost as if you watch walking stone sculptures, it's a disaster.
I am just happy the manga is in black and white because the colored covers gave me chills. I don't know who thought it'd be a good idea to color their lips red, but yeah, look for yourself and get nightmares.

Manga layout: started very, very weak. It was almost like half of the plot was missing. There was no clear cut between scenes and I wondered from time to time why they were standing in their room, then in the school from one second to the next. Speech bubbles and free text often were overlapped by effects and screen tones, don't think that's only a translation problem. It gets better once the story proceeds, but from time to time it goes back to the horrible start layout.

Conclusion: I really don't know what to say. Read it if you have spare time, but don't expect anything too special. I don't regret it, but, yeah, well...

Psycho but can be weirdly fun.

The characters are nuts. They're not good people and horribly manipulative and immature. However, it's clearly not meant to be taken seriously (at least I hope not), and all of them are about the same level and kind of crazy, so it doesn't feel too unbalanced or creepy.

However, as it goes on it's a little less interesting. There's not much plot at all. It gets pretty repetitive.

But somehow it's still pretty fun overall. Just don't read it if it's not what you're in the mood for.

Depends on which couple you read

First off, the main couple: Mikado and Towa. Their love story gets on my nerves in the future volumes. Towa being so dumb- ah, I mean thick-headed and dense. I admit it is cute. As long as it is kept in MODERATION. This particular trait is what Mikado fell in love with though so what the hell. They are an adorable couple and I love Mikado's possessiveness but they aren't my fave in the series. Ranked 3rd in my list.

Second couple: Shinonome and Yukimura. Let me just say that they are my least favorite couple. Tsunderes ain't my cup of tea. I always feel bad for the seme who falls for a tsundere uke. Props to Shinonome for being a patient boyfriend. Ranked 4th.

Third couple: Kuon and Nanao. Used to be my first favorite couple (until Former Council President Akagi and Disciplinary President Kousaka happened). I love all the elements in their story. Which basically means: I love angst. I love Nanao. I love Kuon. I always love the drama genre so I'm always up for a heart-wrenching, tear-jerking story. I love how Kuon is slowly picking up Nanao's broken pieces and putting him back together. They ain't perfect and that's what makes it a perfect read for me. (Especially the latest installment, Mujihi na Karada). Rank 2nd.

Finally, Akagi and Kousaka. These two are my top 1. I honestly hated Kousaka's presence in Sunao ja Nai Kedo. But that thought disappeared after he got his own story. Once again, this is angst (yay!) I love Akagi's split personality and Kousaka's family problems (especially that thing going on with his brother). The reason they're my OTP in this series is cause of the family theme in their story - both of them having family issues - which I can relate to. Mikado and Towa's story is just a mix of stupid and sweet. Shinonome and Yukimura's side focuses on the delinquency aspect. While Kuon and Nanao's story is about... uhh... locking your lovers in a cage/cell.

I didn't really care much about the recent oneshot. The one about Mikado and Nanao's older sister, Kimiko, Kuon and Towa's older brother, (Naga)Hisa-nii, and Shinonome and Towa's friend, Yuu. Yuu would look smokin' hot as a seme buuuuut I'm really hoping that Sakuraga-sensei would put all her attention on the other four couples that she's already written about >.<

You are ruining my experience here in Baka, really... If the author and editor think the books are different works, have different names (and not "xx vol 17"), why do you group it together? Last time I pointed this, you split the titles, I don´t now if only for me or for everyone. But there weren't there the comments and the rating anymore... Can't you restore this data?
Please, change this politic, you have an item there called "related series" where we can get all the related series as the title says.
And SAKURAGA Mei wrote now only five works... Please, revert this, and restore comments and ratings as they used to be...

-> I started reading this with the Nanao x Kuon couple volumes, coz they were grown up and deeper somehow and i loved them. I would rate their story with a 10~
->I got interested in the main couple so next i read the Towa x Mikado couple volumes, tho i dun like dense charas or slow paced romance, it was really enjoyable, coz of the art, h scenes and wonderful characters. I would rate them with 9 or so.
->I continued with the Yukimura x Shinonome couple, coz i like tsundere characters, but Yukimura was kinda a pain in ass xD so they would get about a 9 rating from me.
->Then i read the Kousaka x Akagi couple, which i reaaally liked!!~ i mean they are the best <3 so damn sweet together, get a 10 from me!! Hope the mangaka makes a continuation of those two!!!!
->I didnt expect it to be this good, but its really awesome, tho i dunno how the hell the time is flowing there xDD

I read Sunao ja nai kedo first and end up reading all book in the series; that surprises me because BL is not my main type (I even buy magazines to read Shouwaru Ookami!!!). The story might be predictable but it's still fun and quite enjoyable to read.

- Towa was too naive for me, but I guess that's why our Mikado loves him
- For pair 2, I like the fact that Yuki-chan seemed to be good at everything except love and Shinonome was no good at all (at least in his study) but he was the best at chasing after Yuki-chan.
- The story of Kuon/Nanao was more serious than the other two. Still they made a good pair: A possessive Kuon and a no self confidence Nanao-san.
- Akagi-senpai and Kousaga were different in personality, but there were alike somehow (what did I just say? LOL). They're an unexpect pair for me. I wish there're more stories about them.

I gave up on "Warui" after the first volume because Towa is too dumb and predictable a uke for my liking and Mikado is absolutely banal as the seme. I don't mind them as side characters but they lack the authority of key protagonists. That being said, my couple of choice is Shinonome and Kousaka, which is not even a real couple in the series. Haha. I also like the idea of a delinquent Yuki-chan: his VP persona is an overused bore. Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, Sakuraga-san went the wrong way with Yuki’s tough and feisty character.

Truth be told, the whole series is rather predictable and cliché, with the mild and superficial drama, very base characters with conventional dynamics and a sort of "superficial complexity" that is too all over the place. Nonetheless, though it is not a mind-challenging sort of BL, it can still grant some level of satisfaction, mainly due to the quantity of bishonen involved. Visually, it has its high moments, especially regarding Shinonome, who really is the hottest of them all, haha. Otherwise it overuses shade and close-ups, the panes are too crowded and noisy, everyone shouts too loud, well, the usual. The graphic scenes are the worst. It’s like they are doing it in a room full of people watching and buzzing: too many speech bubbles, too many hasty lines, too much of everything, really.

Character-wise, the semes are all the same. They have that cool-but-complex vibe going on on the surface, but then they all react the way they are supposed to, in a very unsurprising manner. Kousaka was my favourite at the time I read Sunao, mostly because you could feel there was space there for development, in a way that does not resound with the remaining cast. Unfortunately, now that he has a more serious storyline (not really) you see that it was all for naught. At least with Shinonome he had a different dynamics from the other couples and that was refreshing.

Too sum it up: very average plot; very cliché and predictable characters; entertaining moments as far as the humour goes; too much of superficial drama; okay art style, though exceedingly crowded; bad choices for development left and right.

One of The Best!

This whole series is amazing! It's become one of my favourite yaoi series. Sakuraga-sensei is so talented and her art is beautiful. At times it may get messy and the shading can be a little overwhelming, but nonetheless it's definitely eye candy. She has a variety of different pairings within the story and all of the characters connect to one another. (Whether it be siblings, friendship, family, etc.) I have no words for how much i adore the characters. They each have a different background which forms them into who they are as people and being able to see the world from everyone's perspective was great! (: The stories are cute, funny, hot, and unbelievably heartwarming. Although it may come off as cliche, Sakuraga-sensei spices things up and makes it into something worth reading. Trust me, you are bound to fall in love with one of these couples.

Towa and Mikado are super cute together as a couple. I don't mind reading about naive, dense characters because i find them cute. Towa has the perfect amount in his personality trait for me to enjoy it so much and the fact that he's also a delinquent is interesting. xD I don't have much to say about mikado because he's exactly what you would expect from a seme. He does some pretty cute things tho, like blushing whenever towa says something sweet.

Yuki and Shinonome, ahh i love these two! I'm not a fan of tsunderes myself for many reasons but for some reason, i have such a strong love for yuki. He's trying his best and it's sweet seeing the tiny character development that does happen throughout the story. He's so fragile even tho some people remember him as being strong and tough. He still has that streak in him and seeing it appear every now and then is great. Also childhood friends is my weak spot for any type of story.

Nanao and Kuon are my favourite couple in this entire series. Nanao is the type of character that i tend to have my attention immediately fixated on. I always gravitate towards characters who have lots of insecurities, flaws, and low self-esteem. And the fact that he has a very lusty personality makes me drawn to him even more. *-* Kuon is the perfect guy to be in nanao's life and gives him strength and the proper mindset that he is worth being in a loving relationship and deserves to be happy. There's so much angst and oh, how i love it all.

Personally, i don't care for Akagi and Kousaka. I'm excited to find out what will happen between Nagahisa, Yuu and Kimiko. That'll be entertaining and man, i wish yuu didn't have a growth spurt. It would've been just fine if he were a short, feminine, seme. That's the yuu i know.

Amazing series, a must read!

Every single book of the warui series is amazing and thus deserves a review and rating.
I just love everything about it! The art is great, there's a fun little story and the really nice thing about it is that you get to know all sorts of characters and as the series progresses on, you'll get to see their own romances!
The characters are simply awesome! They're not all that deep or serious, but they're funny and extremely lovable! I really enjoy the wanna-be delinquents who are all actually very tame and sweet and cute and all, just as much as the student council president who wants to break free from his chains to be himself and the tsundere vice president... there's such an overload of likable characters in the series, it's very hard to pick a favorite!
The oneshots here are alright but my focus lies with the main story.
I'll go ahead and recommend this series (make sure you read it in order!) to any yaoi fan because it's addicting and for me it's totally a must read of the genre!
If you're someone who keeps rooting for the lonely friends or brokenhearted side characters then you'll love this!

My type of manga totally, I really like the art (personally I find it very beautiful) I didn't pick it up before because the covers don't look very good but the actual art of the manga is absolutely great.
Even thought it's traditional Student Council romance it stands out and it's very well paced.

I'm not big fan of uke-dumb-like-log but I can't just hate this one >< So more plus points for me.

Whole series is worth reading if you like connected romances.
