There are three main types of diabetes:

Type 1 diabetes: Occurs when the body is unable to produce insulin themselves. This type of diabetes is usually diagnosed in children, often referred to as "juvenile diabetes.

Type 2 Diabetes: Typically, only later in life, type 2 or adult-onset diabetes "occurs when the body is able to effectively use the insulin type 2 diabetes is linked to lifestyle factors such as unhealthy diet, obesity and lack of exercise as the main reasons ..

Gestational diabetes is a temporary condition that goes away after delivery. Living gestational diabetes can increase your odds of type 2 diabetes later in life.
