Fans of Soho House, the group of private members' clubs slash upscale hotels, might want to get their passports out: the brand is opening its latest outpost in Barcelona this fall. While this is hardly the London-based brand's first hotel outside of the U.K. (there are Soho Houses in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, plus Toronto, Berlin, and Istanbul)], it's the first one in Spain, and hints at the company's growing presence in the global hotel world. (There's another one due to open in Amsterdam early next year, so be on the lookout.) Although you don't have to be a member to stay there, it does help: members can book a room at Soho House Barcelona for an opening rate of €180 ($200) per night, while non-member rates begin at €220 ($245). Reservations are being accepted online as of today for bookings effective October 4.

Expect elegance, but not fussiness.

Soho House Barcelona is in a restored 18th-century building on the Plaça del Duc de Medinaceli in the city's Gothic Quarter neighborhood, with rooms that face the Port Vell harbor. That's a short walk away from the iconic Las Ramblas and from the Gaudí-designed Palau Güell. In addition to 57 rooms that vary in size, the hotel will have two restaurants, a rooftop pool, a 30-room movie theater, a game room, and one of the brand's signature Cowshed spas, with amenities provided by the British beauty line. There are five levels of membership, and wannabe members must apply to the location closest to their home base; even if members aren't staying at a Soho House hotel, they will still be able to swipe their membership card to get in and take advantage of the club's amenities.
