This year's Fall Free for All promises an eclectic mix of performances, from Venezuelan folk music and shadow puppets to dance, jazz and more! Take

Cal Band | Spieker Plaza
The legendary Cal Band kicks off our fourth annual Fall Free for All and sets the tone for a fun, upbeat day.

New Century Chamber Orchestra | Zellerbach Hall
Known for innovative programming and electrifying performances, NCCO is one of the few orchestras in the world without a conductor. Their program features the music of American composer Michael Daugherty and Czech master Josef Suk.

Los Cenzontles Mexican Arts | Wheeler Auditorium
Nahuatl for 'The Mockingbirds', Los Cenzontles celebrates Mexican heritage through their artistry. Enjoy Mexican music and dance in the styles of the San Jarocho and traditional mariachi as well as original songs and popular rhythms.

Prescott Circus, face painting and balloons! | Alumni House Patio
Through circus and theatre arts education, the Prescott Circus Theatre's mission is to empower and engage youth as they develop confidence, teamwork, perseverance, artistic talent, and a dedication to working for success. Join them as they showcase their juggling, stilt walking and more!

Members of the St. Lawrence String Quartet | Hertz Hall
Hailed for imaginative and spontaneous music-making, the SLSQ excels at string repertoire ranging from established literature to contemporary works. Members of the ensemble present Beethoven's early yet grand String Trio in E-flat Major, Op. 3.

Crosspulse Duo with Keith Terry and Evie Ladin | Alumni House
Known for rhythm-based, intercultural music and dance, and body music — clapping, snapping, slapping, stepping, and vocalizing — Crosspulse awakens audiences to the many rhythmic possibilities in our surroundings during its fun, hands-on performances.

Shadow Puppet Workshop with Daniel Barash | Alumni House
12 pm – 3 pm
Daniel Barash uses the ancient art of shadow puppetry to animate stories and folktales from around the world. For this performance, the public is invited to make original shadow puppets to use to enact a collaborative story at 4 pm.

Instrument Petting Zoo | Cesar Chavez
12 pm – 5 pm
Visit and try out a wide assortment of musical instruments, with assistance and demonstrations by UC Berkeley students and young musicians from The Crowden School.

La Tania Baile Flamenco | Zellerbach Hall
La Tania presents a solo flamenco dance performance, accompanied by guitar, vocals, violin, and percussion. The program includes Alas al Viento (Alegrías), solo Instrumental music, and Dibujos en el Aire (Tientos/Tangos).

La Danse du Cleves | Wheeler Auditorium
Popular medieval music? This program features songs and dances that were known and loved in 13th and 14th century Europe. The ensemble features esteemed early music practitioners: Shira Kammen on vielle, harp, and voice; percussionist Peter Maund; and Allison Zelles Lloyd on harp and vocals.

UC Jazz Ensembles | Alumni House Patio
Enjoy the fresh sounds of instrumental jazz in the casual setting of an outdoor patio. UC Jazz Ensembles provide opportunities for students to pursue their love of jazz in multiple formats, from big band to intimate ensembles.

San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows | Hertz Hall
The Adler Fellows participate in a year-long residency at the SF Opera, where they receive intensive individual training and the opportunity to perform on one of the country's most prestigious stages. This performance features soprano Jacqueline Piccolino; mezzo-soprano Laura Krumm; bass-baritone Hadleigh Adams; bass-baritone Phillipe Sly; and coach and pianist Sun Ha Yoon.

Venezuelan Music Project with Jackeline Rago | Alumni House
Jackeline Rago presents an interactive performance based on the folk music of her native Venezuela, Latin America and the Caribbean. Her Venezuelan Music Project includes vocals, guitar, percussion, flute, alto saxophone, and bass.

TDPS Studio Set | Bancroft Studio
UC Berkeley's Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies presents student work in choreographic and dramatic studies ranging from high energy to deeply personal studies and explorations.

ODC/Dance | Zellerbach Hall
ODC/Dance presents Waving Not Drowning (A Guide to Elegance), about culture, fashion, manners and feminine perspective by artistic director Brenda Way.

Pacific Boychoir Academy | Wheeler Auditorium
A school with music at its core, Pacific Boychoir Academy modernizes the boy choir tradition of youths trained to sing in the great churches of Europe. Their set includes Mendelssohn, Mozart, and Rachmaninoff plus songs by the Beatles, Eurythmics, and Simon and Garfunkel.

Enjoy a second round of instrumental jazz in the casual setting of an outdoor patio.

Marcus Shelby Quintet | Hertz Hall
Renowned jazz artist, teacher, composer, and arranger, Marcus Shelby is a vital musical presence in the Bay Area. With Shelby on acoustic bass, Joe Warner on piano, Howard Wiley on tenor saxophone, Geechi Taylor on drums and vocals, and Tiffany Austin on vocals, the ensemble performs original and classic jazz; a preview to the Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra's Tribute to Duke Ellington at Cal Performances on May 2!

Shadow Puppets with Daniel Barash | Alumni House
Daniel Barash uses the ancient art of shadow puppetry to animate stories and folktales from around the world. For this performance, the public is invited to make original shadow puppets in a workshop at 12-3 pm, which they can then use to enact a collaborative story at 4pm.

He's My Brother, She's My Sister | Zellerbach Hall
Siblings Rachel and Robert Kolar lead the danceable, hipster folk band He's My Brother She's My Sister, with tunes variably influenced by folk, glam rock, blues, and cabaret music.

Theater of Yugen | Wheeler Auditorium
Theatre of Yugen performs Kyogen — Japan's classic comedic theater — using traditional stories, stylized voice and movement, and biting satirical humor. The two works on the program, Bonsan ("The Bonsai Thief") and Kagyu ("The Snail"), are performed in English and address such worldly concerns as greed, vanity, and the pleasure of outwitting someone.
