PURPOSE:
You are being asked to participate in a research study. The purpose of the study is to determine whether the use of Professional Learning Networks (PLN's) can aid teachers in finding solutions to common classroom challenges.

PROCEDURES:
If you decide to participate, we will enroll you in an online course. You will receive a list of challenges to complete to learn about Professional Learning Networks. Each challenge should take no more than 20 minutes. You will be able to give feedback about the course through a daily survey.

RISKS:
There are minimal risks for participating in this study. The data will be collected in a secure manner and no identifiable information will be collected.

BENEFITS:
The benefit of participating in this study is access to an online course and an instructor. You will learn how to build a Professional Learning Network and how you can use your network of resources and contacts to find solutions to the challenges you face in the classroom.

CONFIDENTIALITY:
The Faculty Advisor, Dorothy Chun, Ph.D., and the Student Associate, Torrey Trust, are the only persons with access to the survey data. Collected data will be downloaded to the Associate's computer over a secure channel. The data we collect will not be linked to your identity in any way.

RIGHT TO REFUSE OR WITHDRAW:
You may refuse to participate and still receive any benefits you would receive if you were not in the study. You may change your mind about being in the study and quit after the study has started.
