Dear 2014 HBA Mid-Atlantic chapter members,
We have had an amazing 2014 thanks to our excellent leaders and dedicated volunteer members and now it is time to recruit leaders for next year’s chapter board.
We are pleased to announce the following open board seats and look forward to receiving your nominations for these positions and would encourage self-nomination.
Open leadership positions for 2015 chapter board:
- President
- President-elect
- Vice president
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Director-at-large - Five positions open
If you are interested in one or more of the above positions, please apply as soon as possible. If you have business colleagues or friends whom you think are qualified and would be interested, please bring this opportunity to their attention or nominate them for a role. A brief description of each role is available here to familiarize you with key responsibilities. If you are uncertain about which position would be the best fit, please forward your contact information and we will discuss all open chapter board positions with qualified candidates.
All nominations are due by July 15, 2014. We will then contact candidates for interviews. Interviews will be conducted by July 25, 2014.
When thinking about nominations for the 2015 chapter board, please consider the following criteria that are important to maintain an effective and representative leadership team. Not all nominees must have all of these attributes, but a well-rounded chapter board member will have qualities such as:
- Familiarity with the HBA, gained through volunteering and/or attending events
- Ability to commit the time/resources needed to fulfill responsibilities of a board member
- Experience working in the healthcare industry
- Proven dedication/support of the HBA’s mission and vision
- Strong and demonstrated leadership, influencing, and other team skills
- Energy, ideas and enthusiasm to positively influence the advancement of women
- Previous experience on a non-profit board
