Coldplay headlined opening night of the inaugural iTunes Festival at SXSW.
The band used the high-profile set to play old favorites as well debut material from its forthcoming sixth studio album, “Ghost Stories,” which is due in stores May 19.
The show was one of the hottest tickets of the 2014 South by Southwest, the prestigious music conference and festival that runs through Sunday in Austin, Texas.
The iTunes Festival at SXSW — which is really a festival within a festival — runs through Saturday. The other headliners are Kendrick Lamar on Wednesday, Soundgarden on Thursday, Pitbull on Friday and Keith Urban on Saturday.
Performances will be streamed live and on-demand for free via the iTunes Store. Apple TV viewers can also watch all the action, by selecting iTunes Festival from the home screen.
