| I don't know many that are good, but here's one: Taisho Baseball Girls - not just the protagonist, but pretty much the whole cast consists of well-written female characters. |

| I'm going to recommend Cross Game because the main female is a terrific character. She appears in most episodes even though the "official" main character is a boy. Aoba's younger sister Momiji is a hoot, too. In Angelic Layer contestants engage in arena battles with mind-controlled dolls. The main character is a girl, as are most of the cast. |
