CARIBOU, Maine — Hazy smoke from wildfires in Alberta, Canada, has been visible in the skies over some Maine counties Thursday, according to the National Weather Service’s Caribou offices.
Forecaster Don Dumont said skies have been haziest in Somerset and Piscataquis counties.
While Dumont said it’s not unusual for Maine skies to be hazy in the aftermath of Canadian wildfires, it’s unusual for it to occur this early in the spring.
The hazy skies are not expected to reduce visibility, and they are expected to phase out by the end of the day Thursday.
