We heard that Roku was planning to go international with its tiny streaming boxes, and after launching in the UK a couple of months ago, the company has announced that its products are available to pre-order in Canada as of today. Those in the north will only get to choose from the Roku 2 XD and XS for CA$89.99 and CA$109.99, respectively, from Amazon, Walmart, London Drugs, and Roku's own website. Both models are expected to ship later this month, and they come with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 1080p streaming. The step-up XS has an Ethernet and USB port, and includes a gaming remote to play with the included copy of Angry Birds. Roku says the streamers come with over 100 channels, including Netflix, Crackle, NHL, MLB.TV, Facebook, Flickr, and Rdio. That pales comparison to Roku's US offerings — which come with over 450 channels — but considering that services like Amazon Instant Video, HBO Go, and Hulu Plus haven't yet launched in Canada, it isn't a bad start.
