New Delhi: AAP’s Delhi convener Dilip Pandey has filed a complaint against BJP MLA Vijender Gupta for allegedly using old pictures of waterlogging on social media to demonstrate how the state government has failed to maintain infrastructure in the city.
In his complaint to the police, Pandey said: “Gupta has irresponsibly and intensely tweeted four photos of Delhi’s rain as current downpour at 8pm on July 16, which are from previous years—August 28, 2010 and July 20, 2013.” Pandey asked the cops to register an FIR against Gupta.

Among the pictures that were tweeted by Gupta was of a red DTC bus stuck under the Minto Road railway bridge. Ironically this was an area where agencies have managed to stop waterlogging.
Gupta said, “I never said that the picture was taken recently. I have used it because it symbolises the mess in the city. But the AAP government is just not bothered. A lot of money was spent on desilting of drains so why is water still getting accumulated on the roads. There is corruption in desilting and it should be investigated.”
