Scientists discuss prediction models

The second day of the international conference on ‘Advanced dynamical core modelling for atmospheric and oceanic circulation’ at NARL campus here on Tuesday saw some interesting presentations on predictability aspect. Bo-Wen Shen, a scientist from NASA, USA, presented his view on the predictability of tropical cyclogenesis with NASA’s Global Mesoscale model. C.V. Srinivas from IGCAR and U.C. Mohanty from IIT Delhi also delivered their research findings. Mohan Kumar Das from SAARC Meteorological Centre, Bangladesh, presented the model simulation results regarding ‘Aila’ cyclone.
