I didn’t notice her before…but now I do.
The shiny strands of gold in her silky brown hair.
Tiny crinkles between her eyebrows when she frowns.
Her passion for neatness.

Once I focus on her, I can’t take my eyes from my newest obsession. Ever.
I need to know everything about her.
Her past. Her present.
The way she takes her coffee.
Exactly how she smells after a spritz of perfume in the mornings.

She’s perfect in every way and I was blind.
But, God, now do I see.

I notice the organized way she arranges her clothes in her closet.
How she visits the same market each Saturday.
The sounds of her breathing as I lie beneath her bed in silence.

Violet is mine.
She just doesn’t know it yet.

***WARNING***
Notice is a dark and unusual romance. Extreme sexual themes and violence in certain scenes, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for you. If you aren't into super obsessive stalkers, then this story is not for you.

➦Me, after reading the blurb:

➦I'm signing up for this creepfest!

➦Me, while reading this:

➦And may be a little bit of

➦Final consensus:

➦Ok, so couple of things you need to know before you go into this one.

1. The hero is very obsessive and should probably publish a book on how to stalk a person.

2. The book has dark-ish undertones with abuse/rape, however, said abuse happens in flashbacks and NOT between the main characters.

3. Some of this stuff is very far-fetched but as long as you can accept that this is a stalking fantasy you should be able to enjoy it just fine.

➦It's different. It's not for everyone. If you're an adventurous reader - go for it! I loved it, especially the hero. Being in his head was awesome. He legit made me LOL at times when he kept thinking to himself that he needs to protect the heroine from ogling creeps. While rummaging through her underwear drawers.

Let me first point out that I liked some of the obsessive/stalker/psycho heroes portrayed in romance books because the writers made them attractive somehow, so sue me :)

I really loved some of them hard (such as Vicious by L.J. Shen or The Bad Guy by Celia Aaron)

However, this book was by far the most ridiculous of them all. It says we have an obsessive hero and an abused heroine but it just doesn’t make sense at all.

The hero’s obsession is beyond acceptable; it is borderline creepy and disgusting . It crosses the line into criminal behavior!

***********************************************

Just imagine...

I wonder who would accept a man who breaks into her apartment, checking every drawer etc and stripping you naked when you are asleep and jerking off your naked sleeping body, dropping his cum on you, and then getting under your bed and sleeping there, all because he is addicted to you and cannot stay away from you - WTF?

And this becomes a daily routine until he makes her fall in love with him during the day by playing his cards more carefully.

That would, for sure, scare and disgust the hell out of me! How am I supposed to love this hero?

***********************************************

There are too many “wrongs” in this book.

Everything that happens sounds like a twisted joke. The story was so far-fetched and the characters were so unbelievable and unacceptable that the book felt borderline ridiculous and dumb for me.

Let me list some of the unbelievable things and "WTF moments" in it so that you can save yourself from the self-torture I have just been through...

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Other "Eww, yuck!" moments of mine:

Despite the new condom rule, I’m going to wear her down until she lets me put baby after baby inside her body.

For your information dear writers, this doesn't sound sexy at all if you mean so when you write similar lines. But if you aim at being ridiculous and repulsive, then bingo, you nailed it!

“Are you sore?” he questions, his voice husky. His eyes flicker with heat that burns its way straight to my core.
I jerk my gaze around the office but nobody is paying attention. “Yes,” I admit with a whisper.
A smug grin tugs at his handsome mouth. “Good. I like the idea of you thinking about my big cock every time you sit down.”

Again, I am sick of reading how big and thick it is. Why do the writers need to emphasize this so much, and when the hero himself says it, it is even worse that when she says it!

Writing

To make this torture bearable, I would have appreciated some good writing but the writing also sucks. I felt no emotions and I couldn’t connect with the characters. The characters are too strange to connect, anyway :)

Everything is over the top, to put it in a nutshell...

Not recommended at all!

“Eyes on the target.
Always.
I don’t have to watch my back because Bull has it.
Always.
Sniper and spotter.
Two best friends since the seventh grade.”

Maybe that is why Grayson Maxwell has never noticed Violet before she gives him her resignation. She has never been his target before.
You see, Violet has been servicing him coffee and she has been his assistant for 6 years and he never noticed her.
(Although, I am still wondering How can you NOT notice someone who has been serving coffee to you for six years?)
And then when he is about to lose her, he does notice her. And Violet becomes his target.

Right…. So…. Anyway... EVERY TIME I think that I have read and heard everything about stalkers in Romance books and EVERY TIME I am surprised because I keep discovering new stalkers that are the new improved version of the old ones.

I am not sure if this is normal, but I could not stop laughing when Grayson Maxwell is stalking Violet: under the bed, next to the bed of the sleeping Violet, cuddling Violet while she is sleeping naked after he removed her clothes, jerking off next to sleeping Violet (For f@ck’s shake how much of a heavy sleeper Violet is!), answering her mobile, checking her closets etc.
I dare to say that he is kind of cute. Creepy but cute.

I don’t think there is anybody normal in this book. There is
-Grayson with his obvious issues,
-Violet with her tragic past and her lunatic/rapist/drugdealer/pimp exboyfriend,
-Grayson’s mother and sister with their issues,
-heartless Grayson’s father,
-Grayson’s best friends who know that Grayson is a stalker and they just treat him like he has a bad habit, but they still love him. And they are ready to kill for him.

I feel a bit embarrassed about it, but I had fun reading the book. There are a few descriptions from past events that may disturb readers because they are dealing with brutal rape. They were hard for me to read, but I knew that Grayson/Hawk will take his revenge because….

I want my girl to be safe.
There are all kinds of freaks in this world who would die to be inside this apartment with her.
Lucky for her, she has me to protect her.
There’s only room for one freak in her world.
And I take up a lot of space.

Sometimes love isn’t black or white. Sometimes love isn’t even in color. For me, love is red. Bloody, dripping, bright, crimson. Violent.

 photo Teaser 10_zpsakvdowjj.jpg

I’m not even sure how to categorize this one. It was dark but at times I found it to be bizarre and a bit silly, but overall I absolutely had a great time reading it. This was one seriously naughty and decadent, guilty pleasure read. The story is over the top ridiculous but I do believe that is what the author was going for and the Hero, although sexy as hell, was borderline psychotic. Even with his extremely creepy tendencies, I couldn’t help loving Grayson Maxwell!

 photo Teaser 7_zpskrjju1hn.jpg

Violet Simmons is a woman with a horrific past that she was able to escape six years ago, but it still haunts her on a daily basis. Her ex-boyfriend was violent, abusive, and made sure to keep her strung out on drugs. He also pimped her out to make money that he mostly spent on narcotics. But that’s her past and now she works for a real estate brokerage and has her own little one-bedroom apartment. She sends a big percentage of what she makes home to help out her mom. Violet has been dissatisfied with her job for a while because there are several men who make inappropriate advances towards her and her boss has never acknowledged her in all the years that she has worked for him. On the day she walks towards her boss’s desk and slams her two weeks’ notice in front of him it’s like a light switch was flipped and he is finally noticing her. Actually, he becomes 100% consumed and obsessed with her.

Grayson Maxwell is a very odd man. He was once a sniper for the Marines and during a mission that went wrong he was badly injured but the ordeal messed up his psyche more than his body. Grayson has a one track mind. He only seems to be able to focus on one thing at any given time so everything goes unnoticed by him and that’s why he never really saw Violet until the morning she tries to quit. Now that she has come into his line of sight, he is completely enthralled with her and he becomes worse than a stalker. Gray breaks into her apartment at night while she’s sleeping and somehow manages to get her naked without her ever waking up! Yea RIGHT!! Then he fondles her and pleasures himself while she sleeps. That’s not even the creepiest part—he crawls under her bed and jacks off while she sleeps on the bed above him! I literally laughed so hard but I’ll admit I found this to be highly erotic as well!! K. Webster is really quite talented in making the most bizarre and disturbing men, sexy as hell!

 photo Teaser 8_zpsnjymfhc3.jpg

Gray and Violet start to build a relationship and he works hard to make things better for her in the office. He also makes it his sole responsibility to keep her safe, which means he has his sights set on the evil Ex who is still out there somewhere and poses a threat to Violet’s wellbeing, but she still has no idea that Gray has been sneaking into her bedroom every night while she sleeps. Will Gray’s creepiness or Violet’s Ex tear these two lovers apart?

Hello, my name is Jessica, and I have serious psychological problems. I blame K. Webster for taking me, an already obviously sick human being, and making me even worse. The hero in Notice is a successful, attractive stalker. That last part would keep him from being appealing to most sane individuals, but does that one silly detail matter to me? Absolutely not! I will go as far as to say that it made me love him even more! When I read You by Caroline Kepnes, I thought Joe was the only stalker I could ever love. I was so wrong! I would participate in a menage with them both anytime!

Grayson Maxwell never noticed Violet until the day she handed him her 2 week notice. Even then, his business associate and best friend, Bull, had to make him pay attention to her. Once he finally saw her though, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her. He wants to find out everything about her and sets out to do just that by going through her computer, her phone, and even her apartment…while she sleeps.

Violet can’t stand Gray. He has ignored her for years and hasn’t shown her one bit of gratitude for her hard work and dedication. Gray makes it his mission to change those feelings of loathing into something else entirely. He plans to befriend Violet, prevent her from leaving his company, and make her his.

Violet’s feelings for Gray do take a turn for the better. Of course, he doesn’t ever tell her that he sleeps under her bed, steals her panties, or licks her sex toys, but some things are better left unsaid. What she doesn’t know can’t hurt her and all that. Can it?

If you know me, you know that K. Webster is one of my favorite authors. One of the reasons for that is her ability to take the most deranged individuals and make you love them. Gray stole my twisted little heart from the moment he was introduced, and I was rooting for him the entire time! I was reading and thinking crazy shit like, I hope she doesn’t wake up when he touches her! LOL! Sure he is a stalker, but he is also smart, caring, protective, considerate, a prosperous business owner, and a devoted brother and son that takes care of his sister and mother. Violet wasn’t exactly my favorite type of female character, but she was perfect for Gray. I loved how accepting she was of him and his family, and how she wanted to help them in any way she could without judgement.

Notice was everything I wanted it to be and more! The writing was amazing as always, the story was dark and delicious, and the romance was hot. Gray is a dirty talker, in case any of you might be wondering about that, and delightfully inappropriate which I guess is a given with him being a stalker and all. I know this is supposed to be a standalone, but someone is introduced at the very end of the story that I would LOVE to see get their own book. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that one! If you love this author’s work, dark romance, or mentally disturbed but lovable heroes, this one is for you!

3.5 I've Got You, Little Quitter Stars

❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ May Contain Spoilers ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥ ❥

The Prologue starts in the past Hawk/Grayson Maxwell is a sniper in the Marines, while on a mission he goes against orders which has nasty ramifications. Then we go to the present where we meet Violet, Violet is feeling unappreciated at her job working as an assistant to Grayson Maxwell aka Hawk. She has worked tirelessly for him for six years without any validation, what I don't get is how you can have someone working for you for six years handling all your phone calls, bringing you coffee's and have never noticed them??

 photo huh_zps0scsthkh.gif

So finally Gray notices Violet when she slaps her notice on his desk. Once he has noticed her he isn't going to let her go.

Violet left a very abusive obsessive relationship 7 years earlier and still fears her ex (with good reason). She has made sure he will never find going out of her way to be a ghost but can she handle another obsessive alpha with stalker tendencies?

 photo stalker_zpsq7unssde.jpeg

I will say that many things in this book were unbelievable for me which usually I don't like at all but I didn't mind it as much in this one as I think I had prepared myself for it knowing this authors style. I have to say it all:

 photo seems_a_little_crazy_weird_al_zps5cqfjfbf.gif

I really fell for Gray in the first half of the book with all his weird ways. I seem to have a soft spot for an alpha who is a little messed up, must be my mothering instinct hehe. Unfortunately By the end of the book he had taken the weird a little to far for me.

Violet is a determined just not so bright when it comes to picking out men, she did have me chuckling in spots though. The chemistry between Violet and Gray is hot even if the relationship is a little manic and they are super cray, cray *lol*.

 photo GrayandViolet1_zpsipalbxs4.gif

So I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. If you are planning on giving this a read I suggest going in knowing this is a little unrealistic and you should find it enjoyable.

Gotta love the warning attached to this: “Notice is an edgy, dark, and unusual romance. Extreme sexual themes and violence in certain scenes, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for you. If you aren’t into super obsessive stalkers, then this story is not for you.”

NOTICE: is a standalone dark romance novel by K. Webster.

There’s more to Greyson Maxwell than meets the eye, when he wants something nothing stands in his way!!

Violet has worked for Maxwell Subsidiaries for six years as Maxwell’s personal assistant. He doesn’t know it but she runs the show, without her the place would fall down around his ears.

When that day arrives when she slaps her notice on his desk is the one day he notices her.

I didn’t notice her before…but now I do.

It’s also the one day she wished he didn’t. But that ship has already sailed.

Violet is mine.
She just doesn’t know it yet.

Now he’s obsessed

 photo 9-type-of-mobile-users-in-malaysia-world-of-buzz-6_zpsmwxzcajk.gif

Things escalate when it comes to Grey wanting to claim Violet as his, it wasn't so bad that he hacked into her computer found out where she lived, went through all her files, stalked her social media, but he kind of took it up a few levels more, broke into her house and would leave his mark over her body before crawling under her bed.

 photo 200_zpsmjfibcid.gif

 photo asas_zpstuxyyux3.jpg

MY THOUGHTS: Hmmmm where to start, first off for me this wasn’t what I would class as dark, lovers of dark gritty reads will find this more on the sick side than dark, but for some this will be right up their alley.

When it came to Grey, he had an obsessive personality, his stalking skills by passed mine, he had it down pat. I didn’t think I would connect or even like him as much as I did. Helped the he was hot. Once he had his eyes on the target he would go in for the kill. I kind of wanted more. He was all things that all us females love in our book heroes, dark and broody, dirty mouthed, an alpha male in all aspects of his life, once he loved he loved fully and his character is what I really enjoyed in this book. I’m hoping we get to read more about his side kick best friend.

If you've read this authors works previously you know to go in with an open mind, expect the unexpected *coughs* like a grown man hiding under a bed *coughs* he's gone that extra length to show us ladies how stalking is really done!! Or how it's not done being the case.. lol

descriptionThis is a pretty good cover. Good representation of the heroine. Fairy good composition. I would have nudged it all a bit more to the right so the title was closer to the right edge but I like the way the title is done it is unique and eye-catching.description

description

descriptionI enjoyed this one. It wasn't as dark and twisted as I anticipated but it still held my attention from beginning to end. It was well written and nicely paced. It had some twists and turns (the trunk--eek.) There was no OW drama. A bit of OM drama. Not much angst. Some hot sex scenes. A few interesting secondary characters. A VERY stalkerish but hot hero and a damaged but very likable heroine with dubious taste in men. All wrapped up in a sweet and slightly disturbing epilogue.

Not much else left to say. Two thumbs up from yours truly.description

Two Stalkers, One Hero...

Have you ever really enjoyed a book and then wondered if you should have your head read? Because after reading 'Notice' you'll understand my predicament.

Grayson Maxwell is the ultimate antihero. Not only is he eccentric, he manages to make stalking sexy and desirable. It's all just part of his charm. Two weeks prior he didn't know his assistant of 6 years existed and now he's plotting how to keep her…for good.

One day I will have her. But my Violet is like a frightened stray. I need to feed her with affection and gain her trust before I slap a collar on her and declare her mine.

Violet Simmons lives a life that's not truly hers. Instead it’s dictated by fear. Work used to be her one comfort. Now having reached the end of her tether, she hands in her resignation. Tired of the sexual harassment and lack of acknowledgement, she doesn't realise what provoking her boss really means.

The minute Gray lays his focus on Violet, her fate is sealed. He now has two weeks to convince her to stay and not in a conventional way. Certain that he needs to know everything about Violet, he will remove all boundaries to obtain this information. And what comes to light will very much save her life.

The secrets I have stay neatly contained. But her secrets, I will uncover. Her secrets are mine. I want them. I fucking crave them.

I love the fact that this book touches on dark topics, however there is a lightness to this story that makes it easy to read. I enjoyed how both Gray and Violet had real secrets and troubled pasts that make them difficult to love, but instead it made them crazy perfect together. Notice is disturbing, borderline amusing, spicy and somehow heart-warming. Now this is a fantastic read!

LMAO. A satirical slant on the stalker OTT alpha and the damaged-needs-saving heroine. Obviously Webster never intended for the reader to actually take this seriously. Well played, KW, well played.

Unless I completely missed the point but, no matter, either way it's a solid 2.5 stars from me.

Focus.
Focus.
On my review, that is.

"One day, I'm going to fuck her mouth while she pees." - Gray

That quote alone should let you know that K. Webster has definitely brought the krazy to this intense standalone. And if you're new to this author, welcome to the madness!

When Violet handed in her two-weeks notice to her boss of six years, her very hot boss who didn't seem to even know of her existence in all that time, he finally starts paying attention. So much attention that, unbeknownst to Violet, she's become Gray's newest obsession. Ever had someone lurking under your bed? Ever gone to bed clothed and woken up naked? No??? Strangely enough, I wanted to be Violet. What does that say about me???

To say I loved this story would be putting it mildly. While Violet irked me at some points because her logic didn't work for me, I still adored how this story played out. Well, I also expected more from the ending. Sue me, I'm picky. However, the plot was different than anything I've ever read and the author made it insanely easy to get inside Gray's head. And to fall for him! Or maybe I'm insane too. Maybe I've read so many of this author's work that I've become desensitized by the krazy. I don't know and I really don't care. I do know that I will ALWAYS read anything this krazy lady puts out and can't wait for the next stop on this train.

"Sometimes love isn’t black or white. Sometimes love isn’t even in color.

Messy but brilliant against my otherwise dull world."

Well, the idea of this story wasn’t something new, so I expected something special like her other works. But unfortunately the other books that I’ve read with this idea were better than this one. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed it but I liked it a little darker. But I must confess I loved its epilogue. I loved Violet’s character. Even though her ex ruined her but she behaved as if she was not broken and in fact she wasn't broken, she was so brave and strong. And Grayson, notwithstanding he is a stalker I liked him too. He had a tough childhood but I liked him a little shadier.

The story is told in dual POV, 1st person. It’s a stand-alone novel. It was well-paced and well-written. all in all, I liked it and hope you enjoy it as well!

I love the way K. Webster thinks and how she comes up with such unique and slightly disturbing plots. They are super interesting and my guilty pleasure. I know some might find me weird for saying this, but reading books where you get the feeling that you've read the same plot over and over is for me quite boring and tiring. But with K. Webster I know I'm in for something new and exciting. Yes, her stories usually include violence and abuse but that's also the part that makes her stories stand out from other books. And with Notice that's exactly what you get. A thrilling story with an unusual plot and a love full of craziness. I loved every page and I wished we'd get even more of Gray and Violet. Their love was so insane but also addicting to read about, I couldn't get enough. The epilogue was cute but also in author's style. Those that like her books know that her stories couldn't possibly end just on a sweet note. Nope, there's always something dark lurking behind every ending and I love that. For me, reading this book was a huge joy and I cannot wait for her next crazy story.

Warning: spoilers abound.

Uh, yeah. Notice didn’t work for me—and for a number of reasons.

Because what the fresh hell did I just read?

Because it made zero sense for the hero to not have a single clue who the heroine was, what she looked like, or even what her job duties entailed. I mean, she only worked as his personal assistant for six years, fetched and personally delivered his coffee several times a day, and served refreshments at every single one of his monthly board meetings, where she was the only woman in a room full of men.

Because the heroine, who came from a background of domestic violence, forced prostitution, sexual assault, and having pills shoved down her throat to keep her compliant, all of which were perpetrated by her abusive, possessive ex-boyfriend, didn't bat an eye when she learned that this piece-of-shit hero was stalking her.

Because when I said that the hero was stalking her, what I really meant was that he followed her everywhere she went, broke into her apartment, rummaged through her personal possessions, stripped her naked every night, and then, as if that weren’t enough of a violation, he would proceed to masturbate all over her, rubbing his release onto her skin, touching her in places he didn’t have consent. Once finished, he then hid and slept under her bed—only to wake up and start the pattern all over again.

Because the hero, who was aware that the heroine was on the run from someone from her past, didn't put an end to his creepy, late-night activities. Not even after the heroine sensed the presence of someone in her home, mistakenly believing that her ex had found her.

Because, after almost getting caught, the hero sneaked out of the heroine's apartment and proceeded to use her fear to his advantage—playing white knight when she called him in the middle of the night, scared out of her mind, to tell him that someone was inside her apartment.

Because the hero, after learning who and what the heroine was running from, decided to broadcast her whereabouts on the cover of a national newspaper, all in the guise of work related praise, knowing that her ex would see the front-page spread.

Because once her ex surprised her outside of her apartment, thanks to the hero’s antics, the heroine was subsequently kidnapped, forced to strip naked from the waist up, hit/punched in the face, drugged, and almost raped again. But it’s all right, because the hero, in the vaguest possible manner, warned the heroine by simply telling her to be brave when the time came.

Because there were multiple themes that were handled flippantly enough to give me pause.

Because the hero’s mental health wasn't seriously addressed—or at all, for that matter.

Because the hero’s family members also suffered from mental health problems that were not only enabled by the hero and heroine respectively, but, again, these issues weren’t handled in a way that worked for me.

Because the hero’s overly obsessive compulsions were seen as some kind of warped, romantic gesture, as opposed to being severely inappropriate, and, more often than not, crossed the line into criminal behavior.

Because fuck everything about this book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Oh wow, I’ve met plenty of oblivious people in my life but Grayson takes the cake. I mean I had an uncle that was so focused on his book, his dad asked him to walk the dog. Do you know he took the leash and collar on the walk but forgot the damn dog.

I do believe Grayson and I are starting on the wrong foot. First he’s lost in his own little world and now he can only be described as a chauvinistic narcissist.

Um I wouldn’t say I have a vast experience with reading stalker/obsessed romance, mostly only Jessa Kane. But sleeping under her bed … yeah, that’s a new one. What an intriguing fellow.

Hoarding is one of my biggest nightmares. I grew up with a taste of it and I’m thankful it’s made me the opposite. I love throwing useless stuff away.

“I need to know every single detail about every single thing that ever happened to you. I want to steal those horrific memories and wear them like the burn scars on my back so you don’t have to fucking carry them around anymore.”

When he says something like that it makes it a little easier to turn a blind eye on all the shady shit he did.

People in glass houses really shouldn’t throw skeletons.

If you are bound and determined to keep taking chances in numerous rounds of Russian roulette, eventually you’re gonna bite a bullet.

Oh man, that epilogue was a doozy! Upped my rating for sure. Reminded me of old school scary stories from when I was a kid.

Ok it's official... I'm a sicko

I don't know how K Webster does it, but she always does it. What is it? She writes a wild and crazy story, that I shouldn't like. That should make me uncomfortable and run for the hills and I end up loving it. Sigh. I officially need help.

See there's this box that most romance books go into. It's a safe little box and sometimes authors reach their hands out of it and have a sort of "edgy" book. Well K Webster she jumped out of the box. Then she ran away. Then she found a rocket launcher and shot the box. That's what K Webster's romance is... not outside of the box, a blown up box.

If you don't like stories about obsession, and I mean serious obsession, then this story most likely won't be for you. If you can accept love in many forms, and even uncomfortable ones... then you should read Gray & Violet's story. It's the perfect color.

Oh so Wrong and Oh so Right!

Well friends, in this book our hero, Grayson Maxwell is innnntense. Perhaps one of the most intense heroes I’ve read to date, as well as, he can be clinically diagnosed obsessive/compulsive. He is hyper-aware when he sets his sights on someone or something to the exclusion of everything else.

As an elite Marine sniper, this intense focus on a target served him well in the past. Because of his tendency to focus on the target only, his buddy, Bull, always had his back in the military, and still has his back in business and in life. Grayson’s hyper-focus on his business had him failing to notice his alluring personal assistant until she slaps her 14-day “Notice” on him that she will be leaving his employ.

Initially, Grayson doesn’t even know who it is that is demanding his attention until his friend, Bull a.k.a. Jeff, introduces him to Violet Simmons who has been his personal assistant for 6 years. When he does “notice” her, all bets are off. His obsessive need to know everything about her and desire for her begins. She is beautiful. She sparkles. She makes him smile...something he has not been familiar with in quite some time.

“Violet Simmons, my little quitter, made my lips do something they really hate fucking doing. And with it, I feel a strange tightness in my chest. I like the way it feels. The foreign ache that matches the one in my cock coupled with the goofy grin on my face has me feeling more alive than I’ve felt in a really long time.”

Violet has always found Grayson attractive ("hot as hell") with his muscular physique, his icy blue eyes, chiseled jaw and arrogant manner but he never even spoke to her. She truly felt undervalued and overlooked in all the ways she contributed to the bottom line of Grayson’s business.

Through flashbacks of Violet’s past, we discover she escaped from a former obsessive and abusive boyfriend, Vaughn Brecks. He had her name tattooed across his chest and would buy her things he wanted for her. This man also drugged and raped her. He would even pimp her out to other men for money. She knew if she stayed with him, he would eventually kill her. Violet had her taste of obsessive love and found it unpalatably bitter. She ran and cut off all contact with her past life even with her Mom which wounded her deeply.

Grayson’s brand of obsessive desire and love is a far cry from the abusive monster that was her former boyfriend, yet it is still obsessive . Tension mounts through the read as Violet becomes more and more accepting of Grayson’s sweet gestures and attentions, but she remains blissfully unaware of his nocturnal meanderings through her apartment while she sleeps…and that he settles for little sleep himself under her bed . He is a first-class stalker…he means well…he wants to take care of her…he wants to protect her… still…he is an obsessive stalker that wants to control her life.

The story is told in alternating first person POVs. As Grayson and Violet connect with each other, Grayson becomes more human…a better version of himself. Violet also blossoms under the “notice”, protection and care of Grayson. Their chemistry undeniably sizzles off the page. Clearly Grayson has a good heart and he has the best of intentions…he also has his heart-breaking secrets. Still and all, he is doing crazy things at night in Violet's bedroom without her knowledge…while she sleeps.

Suspense and tension build in numerous ways as Grayson claims that Violet is and forever will be his. ("She's mine.") Their intimate explorations are tantalizing and have Violet singing “Hail to the Chief”. (You’ll get this little quip if you read or have read the book.) Violet has yet to confront Grayson over his very wrong and crazy stalker behaviors and nocturnal shenanigans. Add to this Grayson and Bull’s plan to lure Vaughn to Violet so that Grayson can effectively end his existence…no fuss…no muss…no trace. All these plot points culminate in one over-arching climax.

Everything seems oh so wrong…but then again …oh so right.

If you enjoy reading about a different kind of hero...a darker hero...a little off the center mark of normalcy but still hot AF. And you can understand a heroine who might be a perfect for said hero, then "Notice" is a sure bet for you.

RATINGS: FREAKING 1 STAR

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I am NEVER EVER AGAIN going to read a book without checking the blurb. Well, as the blurb describes, the book is based on stalking. The story was predictably horrible. There were many parts in the book which made me throw and run away from it.

I want to clearly emphasise to the characters in the book that WOMEN ARE NOT THINGS, SO PLEASE STOP ENTERTAINING THE IDEA THAT WOMEN SHOULD BE HANDLED LIKE POSSESSIONS TO BE OWNED. THERE SHOULD BE RESPECT FOR HER OWN IDEAS AND CHOICES ALWAYS. Clearly in this entire book, I haven't read any part where a woman is respected and given freedom for her choices. The story had many loop holes which made me roll my eyes. The characterization and conversation between them were clearly irrational, frustrating and depressing. After the end of the story, I was feeling almost mentally traumatised.

Violet Simmons has suffered from an abusive relationship and thus, has lived her life hidden and works as an assistant to Gray Maxwell, a rich tycoon. After six years of assisting him (and being a doormat), she gives him her resignation letter and a two weeks notice. Actually while giving her resignation letter, she slaps him (which I thought she should've done years ago). Nevertheless, he NOTICES her (hence the title of the book) and is instantly obsessed with her (and really WTH!!!). So he's like, yeah, I took a long time to notice her and now she is mine but she doesn't know it yet. (What the freaking thing was that!!!) He immediately does all the digging around for information about her. I mean seriously, how can a guy be so stupid enough not to know his FREAKING ASSISTANT’S NAME and now wants every info about her. Then his stalking begins where he spends his nights by watching her sleep and hiding under her bed. This clearly drove me insane. I wanted to scream at heroine to pack her bags and run away. This was just the beginning and story progresses in its full blown craziness.

The heroine compares the hero with her ex and find many similarities between them and yet she tells herself that the hero is not EVIL like her ex so his behaviour can be excused. This lady needs to be sent to a mental asylum and should undergo many therapies. A STALKER IS A STALKER AND NO MATTER WHAT, HIS BEHAVIOUR CAN'T BE EXCUSED BECAUSE HE CLEARLY HAS NO RESPECT FOR ONE'S PRIVACY AND SECURITY.

Honestly, it was one of my worst experiences in reading a book. The book can drive one into being nuts. So if one’s up for being crazy, then the book is great.

Notice is an interesting story about a rich stalker and a woman who attracts stalkers.

Violet's previous boyfriend (another stalker) abused her in many ways. So she ran away from him and never told anyone where she was. She just wanted to start a new life away from her painful past.

For years, she worked for Grayson Maxwell, and he never noticed her. He literally couldn't multitask or pay attention to other things while he was closing deals at his company. So when Violet gives him her two week notice, Grayson finally sees her for the first time... and he'll do anything to keep her.

I enjoyed reading his point of view and going through the stages of his addiction to Violet. It's a bit odd reading about his stalking skills in detail, but overall it was an fun experience.

reread: 28/06/18

This was a really hard book for me to rate, it’s all kinds of fucked up but also one of those books you devour in one sitting. I already knew that K. Webster is a very controversial author as of right now, her book Wild being all kinds of taboo.

First off, this is a DARK romance, not all fairies and unicorns, it deals with two people in not a very healthy relationship. Grayson is a stalker, and Violet is his obsession. If those are things that you can't look past, then this probably isn’t the book for you.

So I definitely went into this one cautiously, expecting it to slightly push the boundaries of a ‘romantic’ relationship. But I didn’t have any real issues until the epilogue, which is where it just got down right disturbing.

Grayson ‘Hawk’ Maxwell is hyper focused and incapable of focusing on more than one task at a time, he throws himself into a task and notices nothing else around him. Violet ‘Letty’ Simmons has been his personal assistant for the past six years, she’s intelligent and good at her job but Grayson doesn’t even recognise her when she finally gives him her resignation.

And when Grayson finally notices her, six years too late, he becomes obsessed with her and the thought of making her his. He stalks her, pries into her life and even breaks into her house at night. There are many dubious moments that aren’t morally ‘right’ or even that believable, but I just rolled with it.

This obviously isn’t a healthy romance situation, but I don’t think the author tried to portray it as such. This was a romance story between two damaged people and they made it work, their past experiences having been a lot worse, making them feel safe and protected in this relationship.

I found the story to be mildly entertaining, there were fucked-up character spilling from the pages, and I rooted for the relationship in all it's messed up glory. The writing was my favourite part of this book, it was clear, concise and sucked me in.

Now the epilogue.

There were two ‘epilogue’(s), one six months later and one fifteen years later. Fifteen years later is where it got slightly too fucked up for me, it didn’t ruin the overall experience but I was slightly disturbed.

“I’m going to embed myself so far under your skin, you’ll die if you ever try to cut me out.”

Update 2: I've read this book three times now, still great.
Update 1: Just finished my first re-read, I still really enjoy this book. It’s office romance plus crazy stalker. I even loved the hint of humor thrown in from time to time. Besides it having tropes that I love, it’s just plain interesting and had me intrigued all the way through. Highly recommend.

Great book! Very well written and I just loved Gray and Violets story.

There were a few elements that were a little far fetched but, hey, it’s a romance novel. It was nothing I couldn’t look over.

Some reviews I read said Gray was way crazy and over the top but believe me, I’ve read worse. Don’t let those parts of the reviews sway you.

Definitely a shock at the end but a HEA. Loved this book and already have it in my re-read pile.

So, wow...this book...I mean I think every single character in this book is mentally ill in one way or another. Even Bull who is the most normal one "helps" Gray with his stalking. And I mean uber WAY over the top stalking here. Of course, I loved that. What does that say about me?

Review @ Midnight Romance

I've been waiting this because of the freakin' blurb sounds promising. K Webster never ceased to amaze me with her skill to make me-come-to-dark-side. Honestly, the prologue worried me at first. I assumed from the male's POV that he will be the hero of the story then something bad happened to him.

Violet Simmons works her ass off as the assistant for six years. She survived from the worst of her career. However, not even once the boss acknowledge her presence. Not until Violet slapped her resignation on his desk. Grayson Maxwell never once notice the beautiful woman in front of his eyes is his own assistant for years. But this time is different. One look and Grayson vowed to redeem this past years to get to know her because she will be his forever.

description

I simply liked Violet at first. She's independent and hard working person. However, Violet has been a victim of her abusive ex-boyfriend who did some horrible things to her. She's indeed a survivor but sometimes she easily triggered back to the past. Violet is very organized and careful until her boss, Grayson embedded himself into her life.
My entire life is flawless.
The secrets I have stay neatly contained.
But her secrets, I will uncover. Her secrets are mine. I want them. I fucking crave them.

Grayson has some kind of 'sickness' that need to focus 110% and never realize his surrounding. That's why he missed Violet as his assistant all this time. Also his previous job as a sniper makes him as detail oriented and calculated person. Grayson isn't your usual hero but he's not your bad guy. I said it's about fifty-fifty. Physically, he's your dreamy handsome rich man. But psychologically, what he did to Violet is definitely disturbing. Grayson turns into stalker that slipped into her bed at night and befriends with her in daylight.
Violet is mine and she will continue to be mine. I’ll make her mine in every way that I possibly can.

With baby steps, Grayson's plans to bring Violet close to him finally came to fruition. They're quickly became a couple. Grayson did justice to everyone who has been wronged her. He's really super protective over Violet and she likes it. Although Violet admitted it scared her but somehow it feels calming. And of course, there's a lot of sex involved. I must say that it's pretty intense, crazy and hot yet safe enough.
I’m obsessed with you.
I can’t live without you.
I’d die without you.

You’re mine.
I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you.
Whatever it takes.
Mine.
description

The story told from 2 POVs between Violet and Grayson. His unhealthy obsession towards her finally revealed. Grayson's family somehow fucked up with the other kind of 'sickness' but they're getting better in the end. See? No one is perfect but somehow, they could be darker than you. After with Grayson, Violet seems kinda loose herself. She became a bit needy and desperate. Even after she found out his 'stalker' actions, Violet kinda forgive him easily.
I can’t spend another day like the past two days away from you.
I need to see you and be with you.
You’re mine, goddammit.

You’ve consumed me.
You own me.
I’m nothing without you.
I love you.

The ending left me speechless but I wouldn't spoil it for you. Overall, just trust K Webster to give you chills every time she release a new book. Nothing is normal in K Webster's world. Well, it has been 4-5 times in a row I read about stalker or super obsessive man. Have I gone mad? Yet this books couldn't easily to put down and I devoured it until finished.

Notice is just too weird for me. The story is promising at the beginning. Then the more I get to know the character it gets really weird. I can not connect with both Gray and Violet.

The plot is also confusing. I do like stalker romance. But due to confusing character and plot...it does not work for me.

Oh my, I really did love this it was just so deliciously wrong but still managed to push all my buttons.
I love a bit of weird and possessive and Gray had that in absolute spades.
I mean come on sleeping under her bed really should have had the major creep factor but I just couldn't help but adore this unusual courtship.
This author always manages to deliver every time for me and she did the stalker thing just so well.
I didn't really care about believability and the criminality of it alI was just so transfixed throughout.
This was also red hot when it came to the language used and got to say gray sure has a filthy mouth on him and I appreciated every dirty word out of it.
Also loved Violet and her strength in escaping her past, so this had a bit of everything and kept me easily entertained, this was such a different read and definitely gets a thumbs up from me.

4.5 little quitter obsession and stalking stars

Yeah yeah. I know some of you are looking at me like how could you love this book? This man was a little (lotta) bit out of it. I know… I KNOW… and it made me love him even more lol. I’m questioning it myself too 😅😂🤣.

Violet has been working for Grayson for six years now (ages aren’t revealed… but there’s a 14 year age gap), and he’s never noticed her before. She deals with harassment, sexism, and belittling of her hard work every day. Does she find Grayson attractive? Sure. But she’s tired of not being noticed, not being acknowledged. She’s suffered a lot in her past and she needs to think about herself and her future. So when she’s offered another job somewhere else and she gets put down yet again, she turns in her two weeks notice. And that’s when Grayson finally notices her 😬👀.
Oh, dear Violet. You’re not going anywhere.

Grayson can be a hyper focused man. In fact, when he was in the military, it was required of him, and he continues living his life that way. He’s so focused on the task at hand that he’s never noticed his assistant, his VERY beautiful assistant who has fire in her eyes and skills at her fingertips. And now he’s gonna learn everything there is about her 👀.
Violet O. Simmons is mine. She just doesn’t know it yet. T-minus fourteen days…

What I liked/loved:
—um… the stalking… duh (it’s in the title). I love stalker romances, and I don’t mind if they’re dark. I don’t mind if the H goes *there* 😉 and Grayson went there👀. MANY times 💦
My c0ck aches for attention, but she’s stolen the show. I can’t look away from her. She pops open the door and laughs. “Take a picture. It’ll last longer.” Don’t mind if I do. I’ll wait until you’re asleep and naked, though.
🤣😈

—how OTT, obsessed, and protective Grayson is. I love it when the hero only has eyes for the heroine, and it doesn’t matter if there’re carrots dangled in front of him, he only wants the heroine, and that’s exactly what happens in this book. Grayson focuses on Violet, and nothing’s going to get her out of his sights. She means everything to him, and he’s going to do whatever he needs to do in order to keep her 😈
Now that she’s practically mine, I want to shower her with everything. Love. Attention. Gifts. C*m.

—the tension 🔥. Oh yeah. Once Grayson finally SEES Violet, the tension rises 😉

—the smexy times. Sigh. This book is STEAMYYYY 🥵. As soon as Grayson *sneaks* into her place, smexxy stuff happens, but even before they finally have smex, he makes sure to ple@se his obs€ssion 🔥

—his dirty mouth 😉🔥

—the LOL moments😂. Look. This isn’t a funny book, but, LORDT, the AUDACITY of Grayson sometimes made me giggle!!! This man. Oh lord. His inner dialogue was hilarious… cause he’s so obsessed, and Violet just doesn’t know how bad 😂🤣. Made me love this book more
There’s only room for one freak in her world. And I take up a lot of space.

—the extent Grayson goes to in order to get his way 😅
She laughs. “Am I really coming over?” “As if you have any choice in the matter. Once Gwen and Gray Maxwell hook their claws into you, you can’t get away,” I tease. “Friends aren’t really our thing so when we make one, we don’t like to let go.” Her chuckle is sweet, but I can tell she likes the idea of being our friend. I like the idea of my c0ck deep inside her wet c*nt better. Baby steps.

—the way mental health issues are addressed. I like that it’s not one of those “I’m cured” books. Sometimes mental health issues are things that need to be worked on for the rest of people’s lives, and this was sensitive about that

—the s0mnophilia 👀. Oh gosh. I loved it. Don’t you judge me 🔥😅.

—his br€€ding kink 😉

—the comeuppance 👏🏻. I wouldn’t have minded if it had lasted or was detailed a little more lol. But hey. Beggars can’t be choosers

What I didn’t like
—Grayson didn’t notice Violet for SIX YEARS??!?!?! 🤔😑😐. Come on!!! I wish this had been explained more. Maybe some scenes in the past showing this. Because… it just doesn’t make sense 😐. For such a focused man, how did he not NOTICE her 🤦🏻‍♀️

—I wish it had been longer. I was enjoying myself way too much lol

Overall, I loved it

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-no cheating/sharing/owd
-violence/bloodshed
-OMD-the h remembers when her ex made her “work” 😐 and she’s traumatized by thinking he’s found her. It’s constantly coming up in her fears (and she has done flashbacks)
-smexual a$$ault/flashback scenes where the h was abused
-H would hire women to have smexxx with in the past
-mental health/depression
-s0mnophilia (so… n0ncon/dubcon)
-no c0nd0ms
