Expolisa: German Pavilion

Pavilion

In EXPO's geography, Germany is bounded between Ecuador, Kuwait and the Biodiversity Park. 250 people works inside the structure, restaurants apart. I have to say the german pavilion is surely one of my favorites. It really catches your eye, your curiosity and your wonder.

Padiglione Germania

The theme is "Fields of Ideas", and it features two different paths. The first one covers the external structure: you flank the arena, where music shows and theatre pieces take part, and carries on towards the "idea's sprouts". Don't worry: there are  relax zones everywhere. The second path is the principal one, inside the pavilion. You'll have to wait up to 15 minutes to get in. At the entrance, the staff will give you a card called SeedBoard. I think that's a great idea: the cardboard allow you to interact with the installations, displaying informations and videos right inside your hands.

Pad Germania

You will do grocery shopping, discovering the impact and the origin of various foods, how seeds become plants, how to better preserve food. Contents are surely didactic, but adults won't be disappointed. The last attraction is the interactive show "Be(e) Active" where you will sing and play using your board. Bee's safeguard and protection is an important part of the pavilion.

Restaurants

There are three main proposals.

The first choice is the gastronomic restaurant Symphonie, in the first floor. Chef Dominique Zollner, hailing from Münich, has a lot of important experiences behind him. Kitchen is definitely high-ended, with interesting proposals. Prices are way too high, though. Cover charge is 6,80€, 1 bottle of natural water 7,50€. The cheapest entrée is "Grilled avocado with red lentils, oregano mayonnaise and black salt", 15,50€. "Cauliflower pie with mushroom reduction", 16,50€. A coffee will cost you 2,90€. Total? Almost 50€, for a two-courses meal. The restaurant was empty: it could have been a coincidence, but maybe it's a sign. Prices are too high!

Avocado e lenticchieTortino di cavolfiore con funghi

The most popular proposal is the ground floor one. Chef Thomas Gottschlich brings you all the german classics: shin, würstels, sauerkrauts and beer of course! Vegetarians have a choice too: pumpkin and vegetable balls, sveva ravioli and vegetable pancakes. You will spend around 10€ for an entrée and 20€ for the main course, but the plates are really abundant, so it is definitely worth if you're hungry.

There's another bar zone ,where you can find würstel sandwiches, pretzel and beer.

Mark: 5/5 to the pavilion and 3/5 to the kitchen.
