I confirm this bug. It occurs only in Ubuntu 12.10. In 12.04 ape-files work fine. I tested it in foobnix-player (based on python-gst0.10)

This is still relevant to Ubuntu 13.04, although gstreamer1.0 and apps using it (totem, rhythmbox, banshee) work correctly in my tests.

Ubuntu 13.04/Raring is EOL and Ubuntu 12.10/Quantal will be EOL by the time this bug expires, so I'm setting it to Incomplete.
If anyone is still having the issue in Ubuntu 13.10/Saucy, please change this bug back to Confirmed or Triaged. Thanks.
