Boys & Girls Club of the Foothills has received a $12,500 donation from JCPenney's charitable giving program, jcp cares, to support its More Members More Often initiative. The initiative focuses on attracting more young people to join the Club, motivating existing members to increase their participation and retaining youth as members over longer periods of time.

Boys & Girls Clubs in Monrovia provide a safe place for children to learn and grow, and programming designed to develop future leaders.  Education, career, leadership, character development, and sports and recreation are all integral parts of the Club experience.

Throughout the month of July, JCPenney invited customers to support Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide by rounding up their purchases, both in-store and online at jcp.com, to the nearest dollar, donating the difference to help Boys & Girls Clubs. The jcp cares campaign raised nearly $950,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs across the country.

“Thanks to the generosity of JCPenney customers and associates, our Clubs will continue to provide the necessary afterschool support and services to more than 1000 Club members each year,” said John Wilson, Executive Director. “We are so grateful to the San Gabriel Valley community for continuing to support the important work we are doing in our Clubs afterschool each day.”
