School Food Champion Programme

Are you passionate about teaching cooking and nutrition and keen to improve the school lunch take up? Do you believe that good nutrition is key to better health for pupils, leading to better attainment and improved behaviour.

School Food Champion Programme

The School Food Champions Programme has been developed to support the specific actions identified in the School Food Plan commissioned by the Department for Education.

The programme is open to secondary schools in England, who are funded by the Department for Education, and who meet the DfE criteria for low school meal uptake.

We are looking for food teachers who are passionate about teaching cooking and nutrition to their pupils. The main focus of the programme will be to give you the skills and confidence to be a School Food Champion.  This responsibility will bring you to work more closely with the leadership team and school food service, and will give you an opportunity to work across the whole school rather than in your own department.

The main focus of the programme will be to give our teachers the skills and confidence they need to become to be a School Food Champion in their school, through a wide range of resources and support from our expert team.
