Angelina Jolie has started legal action against the Daily Mail for publishing a video online, which it claims shows her while she was addicted to heroin during the 1990s.
Jolie’s anger marks the second Hollywood row in a week for the paper, after it was forced to apologise to the actor George Clooney for a story it published on Tuesday.
The Jolie video, which the Daily Mail took from the National Enquirer, a tabloid infamous for lurid and often ludicrous celebrity gossip, was said to have featured a conversation between Jolie and her father, the actor Jon Voight. In it, the Mail suggests that Jolie is speaking about her brother, James, and her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand.
