The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notice to the Delhi Police and the AAP government over the “abduction” of a pregnant woman from Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital. The NHRC said it has taken suo motu cognizance of a report about a pregnant woman, allegedly being lured away by some persons from LNJP Hospital. The woman returned home in a “delirious condition without her newborn child”, said the NHRC release. Her husband has alleged that the incident was reported to police but no action was taken, it said.
“The news report, if true, raises a serious issue of violation of human rights,” said NHRC.
