Frustrated SO Owner Skewers Picky, MSG-Hating Customers via Window Sign

"Yes, we use MSG!"

Small Chinese restaurant SO, located across from the SOMA Trader Joe's complex, has earned a strong reputation for its killer wings, noodles, and dumplings (it's a sister spot to Sunset mainstay San Tung). But its chef-owner apparently hit a wall last night, closing up shop early and leaving the sign above in the restaurant's window. "We are closed because of you (customers), So...yes we use MSG, we don't believe in organic food, and we don't give a shit about gluten free."

We chatted with an employee at the restaurant, who says the walkout occurred after back-to-back incidents with rude customers: one party refused to pay their bill after deeming the food "too spicy," while another cursed at the owner. "He needed to cool off," says the employee of the owner. "He was frustrated and stressed out, and he's the cook, so we can't run the restaurant without him. We closed up early, and he put up the sign." The furious chef has apparently recovered his sangfroid: the employee says SO will be back in business today. (And for those of you freaking out about MSG, please be advised that no less a chef than David Chang believes MSG allergies are a myth.)
