Enter the Connected Learning Innovation Challenge

The 3rd Connected Learning Innovation Community App Challenge is the ideal opportunity to gain wide recognition and exposure for the educational app or learning platform you have developed. This year, awards will be divided into three categories: 1) Best Institution-developed App, 2) Best Non-institution-developed App, and 3) Best Overall. Apps will be judged for awards based on the following criteria:

  • Version of the LTI specification adopted (utilized)
  • Level of success in a Moodle integration test
  • Overall feature set and functionality as depicted in the presentation video

Apps may be classified in any of the following categories. If your app submission does not fall under any of the categories listed, please select "Other" as the category type, then enter your self-identified category as part of your app description.

The presentation video is very important for demonstrating the actual functionality of your app. As the judging committee may not have access to the data files required to populate your submitted app, much of the comparative judging will be based on clarity and quality of information provided in your video. You may use any tool or utility in the creation of your video, as long as you are able to post it to a server that is accessible without login credentials; a private YouTube video is appropriate, for example. The presentation video should be approximately 5-7 minutes in length.

Nominations now being accepted for the third round of the 1EdTech Connected Learning Innovation Community App Challenge, requiring completed entry by December 20, 2015 with awards announced during the ELI Conference 2016, February 1-3, and recognition at the 1EdTech Learning Impact Leadership Institute 2016.

The Top Three LTI apps will be selected by an evaluation panel, and each app will be awarded $1000. In addition, all submitted apps will be listed in a future issue of Connected Learning Innovation Community newsletter, and the Top Three will be profiled.

NOTE: Apps submitted to the Connected Learning Innovation Community App Challenge do not receive LTI conformance certification. This is a separate process, and more information on conformance certification process may be found here.
