Jada Pinkett Smith has responded after Chris Rock slammed her at this year’s Oscars ceremony.

During the stand-up star’s blistering opening monologue, he took aim at the ‘Gotham’ star’s decision to boycott the event over the diversity row.

“Jada said she’s not coming,” said Rock.

“I was like, ‘Isn’t she on a TV show?’ Jada’s gonna boycott the Oscars? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited!”

Speaking to celebrity site X17, Pinkett Smith said: “It comes with the territory, sweetheart.

“Hey look, it comes with the territory but we gotta keep it moving. We gotta keep it moving. We gotta keep it moving.

“There’s a lot of stuff we gotta handle, a lot of stuff in our world right now. We gotta keep it moving.”

Pinkett Smith wasn’t the only member of the Smith family to get skewered by Rock either.

He took aim at her husband Will Smith, who also boycotted the ceremony.

“It’s not fair that Will was this good and didn’t get nominated,” he said of the actor’s role in NFL drama 'Concussion.

“It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for 'Wild Wild West’.”

Smith, Pinkett Smith, Spike Lee and filmmaker Michael Moore were among a number of stars who didn’t attend the Oscars this year, after no black actors were nominated in any of the acting categories for the second year running.

Rock didn’t hold back on that score either.

“Why this Oscars? It’s the 88th Academy Awards, which means this whole no-black-nominees thing has happened at least 71 other times,” he said.

“You’ve got to figure it happened in the 50s and the 60s. And black people did not protest. You know why? Because we had real things to protest at the time. We were too busy being raped and lynched to care about who won Best Cinematographer.”
