Pay to Participate (P2P) fees are required to be paid before a player can participate in a OHSAA sanctioned event. This fee does NOT guarantee EQUAL PLAYING TIME for every athlete. The fee allows a player to be part of a competitive middle school athletic team. *

Uniforms: All athletes will be given uniforms at the beginning of each season. It is the responsibility of the athlete to take care of the garment and return it at the end of the season. Items not turned in or damaged (not through the normal course of participation) will be invoiced to the student / parent based on current suggested retail. *

I have read and understood the liability for the use of athletic uniforms.

Required

Behavior and Academics: It is expected that athletes conduct themselves with the utmost dignity in and out of school. They are expected to maintain, at a minimum, a 1.75 g.p.a. and passing 4 core classes throughout the season. Players are expected to be the best example, in and out of the classroom as well as in the community and lead with Next Level athletics our school has to offer. Failure to meet these expectations will result in, at a minimum, a LOSS of PLAYING TIME to be determined by the COACH, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR or ADMIN. *

I have read and understood the behavior expectations of our Heritage athletes.

Punctuality: It is expected that all athletes be picked up after practices, games and other events within 10 minutes from concluding. Repeat offences of tardiness can lead to the removal of a player from the team and will be up to the discretion of the building administration and ATHLETIC DIRECTOR. With that said, it is understood that some unforeseen events do occur that do not allow our day to go the way we intend. Please show a simple courtesy by contacting the coach to alert them of the situation. It is recommended that athletes find ways of carpooling to prepare for these situations. Coaches care about each athlete but they also have families of their own that they need to go home to. *

I have read and understood the expectation to be punctual when picking up an athlete.

Sportsmanship: It is expected that parents and spectators be positive role models for our athletes. Use of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited from school events. This rule does extend to all spectators within the context of attending events. You will be asked to leave the event if you are demonstrating signs of "influence". Use of profanity is also prohibited. You are expected to be a role model for our athletes. Yelling at the officials, clock keeper, coach or your own son / daughter during a game is not the behavior that models good sportsmanship for our impressionable athletes. A parent is the most influential person in a child's life. It is important that the memories we give them reinforce accountability, not excuses or blame. Failure to meet these expectations will result in a removal from the event with a possible ban on attending future events. *

I have read and understood the expectation for spectator and parental behavior during the season.

Required

Transportation will be provided, with the exceptions of golf, to all away athletic events. These trips will take athletes to the event and return them to Heritage after the event with one exception. ALL events that are within Westerville will only have a ONE-WAY trip to the event. Athletes will need to be picked up from ALL events that are away at another Westerville school. *

Please do not approach a coach with a concern directly after an event. Emotions, both for parents and coaches run high after events therefore it is not a good idea to have a conversation regarding playing time, skills development, etc. while emotions are elevated. Please wait 24 hrs before approaching a coach with your concern. *
