I’ve seen some of the advertisements attacking Prop. 37. They rail about the exceptions. Well, well. I’d rather there were no exceptions, but then I think genetic engineering of any organism for human or animal consumption should be banned outright. The exceptions are probably in there to make the law easier to enforce. Besides, if people vote with their forks after discovering which foods contain this garbage, the industry just might collapse of its own dead weight. That couldn’t happen fast enough to suit me. I have severe allergy problems already. This could literally be a matter of life and death for me. I eat organic foods whenever possible, but occasionally I do eat at a restaurant, and I usually have some degree of allergic reaction afterwards. Conventional food is bad enough without having to worry about bizarre combinations of genes that could never occur in Nature.
I’m overstating the case, some may say. Watch some of Gary Null’s documentary and then decide. This industry is based on lies, and the likely consequences are good for nobody, except the companies who patent their invented forms of life, trying to destroy their competition, which in this case means biodiversity.

Something Jeffrey Smith said in Part 4, about ten minutes in, was the model of industrial agriculture in a nutshell. To paraphrase slightly, he said after World War 2, the army had leftover supplies of explosives, which could be used as fertilizer, so the artificial fertilizer industry was born. It also had extra supplies of nerve gas, which could be used to kill pests, so the pesticide industry was born. Sound surprising? It shouldn’t be. Research all the peaceful uses of atomic energy that were contemplated. Cooler heads prevailed, except in the energy industry, which built nuclear power plants, and the army, which used it to destroy in ever more efficient ways, not just in bombs but in shells containing what they call depleted uranium, which isn’t fuel for nuclear explosions, but can pierce tank armor like a hot knife through butter. Lead is effective for bullets, since it is extremely dense but soft, so it deforms easily, causing more damage to living tissue. The dum dum bullet had an open jacket, so the lead could expand even more on impact and cause greater damage. Uranium is extremely dense and hard, so it adds great piercing power to a projectile, and like most metals, when it burns, it burns fiercely.
So basically, the prevalent model for both energy production and agriculture is a military model. Industrial agriculture forces desired crops to grow in vast monocultures, dosed with artificial fertilizer and chemicals to kill insects and weeds. That wasn’t sufficient domination over Nature, so now they force plants to absorb genes from unrelated organisms so they will behave as their masters desire, mostly to tolerate more toxic chemicals than the natural plants could withstand. I guess sooner or later people will be engineered to behave as their masters desire. The propaganda machine is pretty effective at that already, but it’s far from foolproof. Never underestimate the depravity of mad scientists motivated by money and power. They have no monopoly on depravity, of course. Nobel Peace Prize winner President Obama has no problem with the military model. He said in his last State of the Union speech, near the beginning, Imagine what we could accomplish if we followed their example. He had started off that speech raving about the great achievements made possible by the courage, selflessness and teamwork of America’s Armed Forces. Yeah, too bad all that team spirit is being used to wage wars of aggression, forbidden by the UN Charter. Is the war on terror being waged for self-defense, or world domination? Some people might be brazenly patriotic enough to say both, but not the President; he hides behind the mantle of self-defense while he calls his policy leading the rest of the world. Which is worse, scientific or political depravity? Hard to say, but it seems to me, at least in modern times, they are inseparable.

This is the reason why it prompted me to get heavily engaged in PROP 37, THE LABELING OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS (GMO) in our food. If you care about your health and the health of your family… this information is for you.
If you live in California, you must know how overwhelming, and time consuming it can be to navigate thru all these Propositions, in order to make an informed vote on November 6th. I am certainly no expert on all of them, but I did extensive homework on this GMO’s issue aka PROP 37. Allow me to share with you the result of my in depth investigation and also give you all the information that led me to my present position.
Even if you don’t live in California, even though you don’t have to vote on GMOs YET, these critical facts concern you as well. If you live outside of the USA, this still affects you.

PROP. 37 won’t require anyone to stop eating GMO’s if it is one’s wish, nor will it prohibit farmers and food companies from continuing to grow and sell GMO food. WE SIMPLY REQUIRE A LABEL ON FOODS THAT CONTAIN ANY GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS, thereby empowering Californians to make their own buying decision.
We need to have THE RIGHT TO DECIDE what we eat and feed our families. And until we have GMOs labeled, we simply lack the information to make an educated decision. It will NOT COST US ANY MORE MONEY per year at the grocery store if we pass Prop. #37. This is a lie to confuse voters.

In 1998, farmer Howard Vlieger harvested both natural corn and a genetically modified Bt variety on his farm in Maurice, Iowa. Curious about how his cows would react to the pesticide-producing Bt corn, he filled one side of his sixteen-foot trough with the Bt and dumped natural corn on the other side. Normally, his cows would eat as much corn as was available, never leaving leftovers. But when he let twenty-five of them into the pen, they
all congregated on the side of the trough with the natural corn. Only when it was all gone, they nibbled a bit on the Bt, but quickly changed their minds and walked away. Would it be possible that these cows instinctively know something that we don’t have the wisdom to acknowledge…???!!!
A couple of years later, Vlieger joined a room full of farmers in Ames, Iowa to hear presidential candidate Al Gore. Troubled by Gore’s unquestioning acceptance of GM foods, Vlieger asked Gore to support a recently introduced bill in Congress requiring that GM foods be at least labeled. Gore replied that scientists said that “ there is no difference between GM and non-GM foods”. When Vlieger respectfully disagreed with Al Gore, and related his cows experiment, he couldn’t stop himself from deducting “My cows are smarter than those scientists”…!!! As the room erupted in applause, Gore asked if any other farmers noticed a difference in the way their animals responded to GM food… 12-15 hands went up.

ON A MORE GLOBAL LEVEL… let’s ask ourselves the question … WHY ARE “THEY” SPENDING $1-$2 MILLION A DAY TO DEFEAT PROP. 37? Who are they? The “BIG 6” GMO and pesticide corporations: BASF, BAYER, DUPONT, DOW CHEMICAL COMPANY, SYNGENTA, AND MONSANTO. These six giant multi national corporations dominate the world’s seed, pesticide and genetic engineering (GE) industries. Collectively they have contributed more than $20 million to oppose the labeling measure.
