Madero (Biography)

Madero began in early 2011, it was officially consolidated as a band on October the 10th of that same year when Alonso recorded "Vida Segunda" (Second Life), a homemade 7-song demo that's currently not available. All of these songs were re-recorded and included in later releases.

The name of the band, Madero is a Spanish word that in most English versions of the Bible translates to Tree and it comes from 1 Peter 2:24 that says: "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."

The first members that joined Alonso were the Seas brothers, Dilan and Esteban, who were part of the band towards the end of 2011 and early 2012. It was during this time that Madero debuted in the local scene at the “Renacer Fest” on April 29th, 2012; they shared stage with Neotes Luo and Reforma Protestante.

In mid 2012, during the recording of “…Al Tercer Día” (At the Third Day) the Seas brothers left the band. Alonso's brother, Jose Pablo Hernández entered Madero to replace Dilan on the bass guitar and Ronald Sáenz, a long-time friend of Alonso's replaced Esteban on the drums. The band had a few performances with this line-up until Ronald left the band.

With 5 tracks and a very acid sound, according to former rock magazine Galdós Alternativo, “…Al Tercer Día” saw the light on July 8th, 2012. This EP includes 4 tracks that were part of “Vida Segunda” and also a new one called “Despertar”.

After Ronald left the position on the drums was covered by Mexican drummer César Vera who was part of the band in its last performance in 2013 before their long pause.

César was part of the recoding of the second studio production "Resucitó" (He Rose), which was released on November 26th, 2012. This EP included the participation of Raising The Fallen's front man, Oscar MV, featuring on the song "Su Fin".

Madero got into a hiatus in January 2013 which ended in May 2014 when Alonso revived the band with a new line-up after moving from San José to Heredia. Christopher Chavarría took the seat on the drums and Diana Jarquín took care of the four strings of the bass.

The band released its lates production “Speranza” (Hope), on June 27th, 2014 in a very intimate event at the musical store Bansbach in San José, Costa Rica. This EP has 5 tracks and it includes the re-recoring of the song “Desierto” and a song featuring Edu Quesada, front man of Ganancia Al Morir, in the song “Vittoria”. In this EP all of the titles of the songs (including the album's), are in Italian. The band is currently promoting this material that according to the majority of the reviews, it exceeds the two previous materials.

Towards the end of 2014, Diana and Christopher left the band. Aaron Liberty from Virginia punk rock band True Liberty, and Mauricio Dagilly entered the band then. Mauricio Alvarado played one show as well. With this line-up the band played some shows at skateparks.

Currently, Alonso Madero is moving to the U.S. and continue with the band up there. At the moment there's plans to record the first long duration production, which is planned to be in English.
