This book was just ok for me... The main reason I had a harder time to lose myself in this story was because there were so many characters and the theme was quite complex. There were angels, guardians, black souls, purgatory, heaven and hell!!! The list goes on and because I was on holidays for the most part of trying to figure this story out... it made it that much harder to absorb all the little details!!!

I have always loved this author, and I will admit that her mind intrigues me considering how she can come up with such a complex plot!!! I just wished I had more of a mind set to really concentrate on this one! If you’re looking for something different, than give this a go. Especially if angels and guardians are your thing!

Simone was your typical 18 year old girl living the typical teenage life. Her only concerns were her high school classes, her best friends (Leah and Liam), and her boyfriend, Jacob. She's a good daughter, who helps her mom take care of her new baby brother. Her biggest problem was figuring out what to wear to prom. And then her reality takes a hit and outside forces change life as she knows it. A band of intriguing characters introduced her to love, family, and bitter betrayal. Through it all, Shamar is her rock. He's always there and their love just might be the thing that beats back the evil trying to pervade her existence.

This book had so much going on and so many people...
❥ Shamar - he's the keeper of souls. He has the unique job of giving and taking life, being the son of Death himself. In his long life, he's never been affected by anyone the way he's been affected by Simone. Her beauty, her grace, her purity draw him in like a moth to a flame. Even learning she's destined for someone else can't stop him. He's unable to stay away and his every interaction with her only makes him love her more.
❥ Dark Angels - they were responsible for the souls that belong to down below. Their leader has plans for Simone and it's up to her and her allies to defeat him.
❥ Angels - they seem to be stoic, hands-off beings who try to manipulate events to their own advantage. I'm still not sure if they are friend or foe.
❥ Others - Simone, Shamar and Lucas were unaware of their true connections and I actually liked the way the author developed this as part of the story. It only made their link stronger and further appealed them to me.

This story was unlike anything else I've read from this author. While it wasn't my favorite, it was most definitely worthwhile.

I received a copy as a gift for an honest review

You know that feeling when you read something and you have that moment when you just know that all others books even remotely similar will be compared to the masterpiece that you are currently reading. That’s how I felt when reading My Soul Keeper. I was probably 25% in when I realized that this paranormal by Ker Dukey was going to be the best I’ve read all year …if not ever.

My Soul Keeper is a magnificent battle of good and evil told in such a smooth story telling way that you become captivated and invested right from the start. Not only are we given an epic power struggle between Heaven & Hell, but we get a bird’s eye view of an extraordinary love story.

It is so difficult to tell you anything about this book without giving spoilers. I will tell you that I was surprised to hear that Ker was coming out with a paranormal book. I was definitely intrigued. I’m not big on paranormal but I do read and review it. I think anything has the basis of being a “good” tale. But it takes a lot to be a “great” tale. So many authors just miss the mark. That is not the case with My Soul Keeper. It was such a refreshing change of pace to read something different, captivating and so well written. I was already a Ker Dukey enthusiast, she has made a stalker….I mean fan for life.

I’m a fan of Ker Dukey and her Broken series, and when I was given the chance to read My Soul Keeper, I took it. I’m not a huge paranormal romance fan, but the synopsis intrigued me, so I thought I’d give it a try, and boy am I ever glad I did. This was a brilliant story, full of twists and turns to the very last page, and I love love loved every second of it.

The thing that excited me the most was that this story doesn’t really center around just one person, it involves every character, and they all have pivotal roles to play. Simone is a very special girl with a very important role in life, which takes her awhile to adjust to, but has the support and protection of her friends the whole way. Let’s just say there’s a higher calling beckoning to her…

Leah and Liam are Simone’s best friends, and have her back through what can only be described as hell on earth. This poor girl goes through heartache beyond limits, and just when you think it’s over, another bomb goes off! Then Shamar and Lucas enter the picture, which is a whole lot of sexy hotness, and happens to start an epic fight between good and evil. One who surrounds her with the feeling of calming peace and the other who brings about the feeling of uncontrollable lust and darkness. This confuses her more than ever, and puts her in a very vulnerable spot. Forcing her to literally make life and death decisions for not only her, but also everyone she loves.

Absolute page-turner for me, and I’m left thinking what can happen next, if anything? Ker made me a believer in the paranormal, and I’ll definitely be on the look out for more amazing stories!

MY SOUL KEEPER by Ker Dukey

Five Stars

Reviewed by Sharon Thérèse Nuttall for Kindle Friends Forever.

I dove into this book with a certain amount of trepidation purely because paranormal had never called my attention before. To say I was intrigued from the first line would be an understatement. It’s nothing like the author’s previous books but the style and incredible imagination she has used in a complex storyline is far from confusing and will not let readers down who like this type of book.

The characters’ personalities are unravelled at a steady pace and we get to know them one by one without becoming unduly overwhelmed.

The protagonist, Simone, has been brought up in loving surroundings and is extremely responsible for her years. Even though her mum’s pregnancy worries her no-end, she is excited about having a new sibling in her life. Her best friend, Leah, who I might add, is there for her through thick and thin and just adorable, wants Simone to let her hair down but that unknown something is holding her back. Her stance not only frustrates her part-time boyfriend, Jacob, but is also badly interpreted by Amanda, the school bully! Liam’s over protectiveness of Simone causes certain issues throughout the story which only adds to the intrigue. Even though Simone is about to start a new chapter—college, her world is about to change drastically where her destiny is mapped out by uncontrollable forces. Here enters the love of her life, Shamar.

Shamar is the soul keeper. He’ll pull her very existence apart but as they have such strong feelings for each other and their mutual attraction is undeniable, will they be able to survive so many obstacles paving the way for happiness! Will she be tempted by the unscrupulous Lucas who walks on the dark side of this outstandingly well written love story?
It wouldn’t be fair if I told you more so now I’ll take this opportunity to commend Ms Dukey for having the courage to write her first paranormal novel. It has paid off! Bravo!

I'm sorry, but no matter how hard I tried this book just wasn't for me. I thought at first I would enjoy it, her being a virgin attracted to some really hot men, some even angels, but no. We were not even honoured with hot sex scenes. I so wanted explicit details, I wanted to feel part of the book, I wanted to get all hot and bothered, but even the first sex, was yes magical, but not hot. There didn't seem to be any care in this act, the fact it could be painful, it was like it was their hundredth time rather than that first precious moment. I just didn't feel it.
I must admit this is not my usual genre, but reading he synopsis, I did think that I would enjoy this for a change, but to be honest I found the book just silly at times. I did find it humourous in places, such as when she first gets her wings, and starts knocking things off tables as she wasn't aware of them...now that was amusing. But I just couldn't get my head around how you can kill an angel with just a knife?... Your dad is the angel of death, yet he has to get another angel to heal his son?, how got wouldn't see a new angel on earth and would be angry and potentially destroy this..why?... Especially when it's written in the book.
I got lost on numerous occasions with who was saying what and where they were.
The main things in this book I did like and I felt it did deserve 2.5 or at least 3 stars was Shamar, how he would raise Simone's chin up to heaven and say her the she was too beautiful to show it to tube low, that she should always look up. I loved that saying, and this made me fall for these two characters...let alone Liam and Leah. I loved Liam, what an outstanding guy to care for a friend. I wish I had a friend like him.
I didn't want to knock this book, as it was a nice read, just not for me I'm afraid. It was just too silly for me, sorry

Oh my.... Please please someone tell me there is a follow up book???

I am not normally a huge paranormal fan. I do have a few authors I read faithfully, but paranormal is not at the top of my list. So, when I saw that one of my favorite authors had a paranormal romance coming out, I must admit, I was a little torn. Do I read it? Do I pass it by?

Well, can I just say I am so glad I decided to give this one a go. I struggled to get into it in the beginning, but I pushed forward and ended up greatly rewarded in the end. Because holy moly I want more of this book!!!!

I think a good portion of the reason I did love this one so much is that the story doesnt revolve around the paranormal aspect as much as it does the love connection between Shamar and Simone. There was angst and turmoil without being one of those books that you want to throw your kindle because nothing good ever happens. This one had a fantastic balance between all that was going on and the moments that made you swoon.

And speaking of swooning--- *sigh* Shamar was swoon worthy. I adored him. He was not what I would call "alpha" but at the same time he had a presence about him that puts him as close to alpha as you can get. He knew what he wanted, Simone. And he was not about to let anyone or anything get in his way. He amazed me with his ability to stand down when he needed to, and rose up when called for. He was a friend, a lover and a protector. And he had a love for Simone that every woman hopes for.

Simone was the kind of heroine I love. Strong, independent, opinionated and not afraid to do what she needed to do. She had this amazing ability to turn the other cheek at times I would of punched someone in the face. And with all the stuff that was thrown at her in a short amount of time, I was amazed she didnt break.

Get ready for a crazy ride. Twists and turns. Secrets that are revealed that change the way Simone has to think about her life. What do you do when everything you think about your life turns out to be a lie?

My final thought is that I seriously hope there is a follow up to this book. It is not a cliffhanger but it left me with a book hangover and panting for more.

This was a pretty interesting take on Angel & Demon characters for a story…interesting, but also engaging and executed really well. The players in the story, especially the leading roles of Simone and Shamar, are well-rounded and reflect excellent development with depth of personality and realistic emotions. I must say that what impressed me most was the author’s ability to include so many characters that each left their own distinct and impactful presence on the reader, without disturbing the flow of the storyline or causing frustration from having to remember the details of each individual within it. Much to the contrary, each additional character only seemed to enhance the plot and the experience for the reader. The author, Ker Dukey, really shines in her talent of creating such uniquely different characters that stand apart from each other enough to be memorable, yet also still have threads of connection woven amongst them within the actions and reactions of each other. This is definitely one of the better books that I’ve read this year and look forward to reading more from Ker Dukey.

My Soul Keeper is my first Ker Dukey book. I have not read any of her others, not for lack of trying. I have had them sitting on my kindle forever and just haven’t gotten around to them. I have heard good things about her writing and this book did not disappoint.

Simone has a relatively normal life, or so she thinks. All of a sudden her teenage world is turned upside down with the appearance of angels, demons, and Lucifer himself. Turns out Simone isn’t so normal, and because of this, anyone close to her life is in danger. Shamar, a soul keeper, loves Simone but can he save her from Lucifer and will Simone be able to heal after all she has lost?

Wow, I am a huge fan of paranormal romances and this one really was unique. It was not like anything I have read before and the story had me gripped from page one. I feel like this book was more on the YA/NA genre which when I am reading paranormal isn’t usually my cup of tea but I really did love this book. It is really well written and I cannot wait for more from Ker.

Let me start by saying i DON'T read paranormal but because i loved Ker Dukey's previous books i thought i'd give this a go. Now, this is nothing like The Broken series at all, except that it's brilliantly written and just as addictive. You meet all the main characters from the beginning and i've gotta admit i loved them all, even the horrible ones. I'm not going to go into the story, plot etc because to be honest, i don't know where to start without giving it away. I didn't have high hopes that i'd enjoy this book, due to it been para, but i can honestly say i've never read a paranormal book with so many twists and turns and by the time i'd got 10% in i was well and truly hooked. Thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and drove myself crazy trying to figure it all out. I'd definitely recommend this, even if you're not a big paranormal fan, the story just sucks you in.

Wow - Loved this new Paranormal book from Ker, very different to her Broken series but equally as good, very well written, gripping, a few twists along the way and of course some hot steamy scenes.

The story follows Simone and Sharmar who have to face and accept many new challenges along the way and are drawn to each with such a strong force and have to fight for what their souls crave.

A brilliant recommend read - I hope to read more paranormal books

** JOSIE'S 4 STAR REVIEW **

My Soul Keeper is a wonderful battle of good versus evil, true and destined love vs. envy and lust; told in dual POV’s. It is a fast read that will have you holding on to your kindle, and anxiously flipping the pages to find out what other secret will be revealed, of who is evil or good. I swear every time I thought I knew a character in this book, I was proven wrong.

Simone leads a pretty normal life, she has a boyfriend, about to finish High School and then off to college. After catching her boyfriend Jacob with her best friend tore her apart, but she is not going to sit back and give anyone the best of her. From having 1 boyfriend, to none was different but Simone managed quite well. We have two guys vying for Simone’s attaching, Shamar and Lucas and let me just say both of these guys are sexy as hell and stir something so strong within Simone, that she does not understand it. Simone’s life is about change with the meeting of 2 boys, that what everything from Simone, she begins to dark, evil things and feel things she has never felt before, her normal just got complicated. Her skin heats up, literally whenever Shamar or Lucas are around, just 1 touch from either one sets her body ablaze.

Shamar, I do not want to spoil this read for anyone so this is hard to review. Shamar is a Soul Keeper, he takes the souls of the dead. He has never met anyone like Simone before and there is this pull she has over him, he tries to control and stay away but he cannot. He has been warned that Simone is Destined; but he does not know to whom. He is giving permission to stay to close to Simone because something seems off. As they get closer so does their feelings for one another.

“You’re so beautiful, Simone. Every Kiss, every touch, is more amazing than the last.”

“I want you to Simone. I really really want you but you’re too special to me to rush. I want you in every way; I want your trust, your friendship, your heart. Your body and Soul.”

When the devil has a claim on Simone and is just as enticing as Shamar things get more complicated for Simone. She starts to see more and more of the unexpected things. When she finally realizes that something is different about her, the devil starts to push his easy into her life harder. You see, although she does not want the Devil he also calls to her and her body responds to him even though her mind tells her no.

“Simone, let yourself come with me. You belong with me. Say you’re mine. Tell me I can have you.”

“No, no I can’t”

“Simone, you’re mine. Say it.”

“My heart belongs to someone else. I’m not yours. I’m sorry.”

There will be a fight for Simone, a fight against good and evil, loved ones will lose their life but Shamar and Simone will fight to be together. This is a interesting read, just when I thought things were ok, BAM everything changed, (YEAH OK WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE DEVIL, RIGHT). Simone’s character grows throughout this book, she finds out what and who she really is, and she uses that strength to fight for the lives of her loved ones, for her soul and for Shamar.

“Shamar, we should have done this ages ago. We’ve both lost everything. We are both they only ones of you kind. We’re soul mates, I feel it. I feel you even when you’re not with me. You’re meant to be mine and I your.”

“You really are my Heaven on Earth, Simone, I love you.”

Let me just start out by saying that I am A HUGE Ker Dukey fan! Man can that girl get my blood pumping with her steamy books. So when I found out this book she was working on was gonna be a paranormal I was Intrigued..... I LOVE paranormal. So I really needed to see of Ker would live up to what I was used to....and by did she!!!!!

I seen the Synopsis.....and Just reading the synopsis I fell in love with Simone and Shamar! That quick and I was hooked. So finally getting the book into my hands was HEAVEN!

I read it within a few hours because I just could not put it down. I didn't wanna leave Simone and Shamar's would AT ALL.

Simone is your average Teen about to go off to college. Battling the usually things most girls are. Should she or shouldn't she give it up to her boyfriend Jacob......And after meeting him I was all for her wearing a chastity belt while around him LOL. Her mam is also about to give birth and with her dad away working so much she's always on call for her mam. Not that she complains about it. Because she loves her mam and can't wait for the birth.

So after the birth she is made by her friends to act her age and go to a party that weekend. THIS is where she see's him......Shamar.... He is stunningly beautiful, and he sets her world a light with just a look. And yet she has no flipping idea who he is....... So she moves past it.....So she thinks.....

But he know's who she is......

Then One night at another party her world comes crashing down around her...Well so she thinks right then anyways. She feel's so betrayed. BUT not as heartbroken as she should feel. As her taughts are still on Shamar yet she has no idea why....

Shamar....Soul keeper, is drawn to Simone from the first time he ever see's her. This is all new to him. He's not used to having these feeling towards a human. But he can't help it. Her body sings and shines out to him. He needs to get to no her no matter how many times he is warned away.

But he's not the only one who wants Simone.....Lucas has his eyes on her as well..... The darkness that seeps from him is not good. Shamar knows something's going on because Simone is so drawn to Lucas as well and no even Simone knows why. Its not the same Pull as Shamar, more lust that consumes her body. Shamars pull is love, like he is her other half. There love is the purest....

"Never let them see you down her Simone....Up always up...."

Them words alone made me melt when ever I heard them *Sigh*

What they both don't realise is that there both in the dark. And what's going on and what's in the making is bigger then both of them.... And has been set in motion many years ago.

If you love paranormal you will LOVE this book. Ker Dukey KICKS. ITS. ASS.

There comes a time when we've read a book that makes us feel honored to have been one of the first readers of a story. That statement applies to this book. I'm familiar with Ker Dukey's work and have been a fan since reading Broken. Then I her follow up novel The Broken Parts of Us which went in a direction I didn't expect and I was truly impressed with her growth as an author. After reading My Soul Keeper, I was in awe of the storyline and characters in her latest book.

My Soul Keeper is a story of Simone and Shamar. Simone is just the typical girl finishing her senior year of high school. Shamar is the son of Death and has a job he's been devoted to for centuries until he sees Simone while performing the tasks of his current assignment. The moment he crosses paths with Simone he's overwhelmed by his need to know about her and just be in her presence. Though unseen Simone can feel the comfort and calm Shamar presence brings her. The moment she lays eyes on Shamar she's consumed by her desire to be with him. However, as her heart is drawn to Shamar, she feels her body fight the desire for another.

As the battle of good and evil wages on, Simone must too fight the battle between her hear and her body.

"You're extraordinary. the light in the darkness, the smell of the meadow, the rain in a desert, the sun in the summer... Your fresh water in the clearest lake. You're the soul of life, Heaven on Earth, the beat in my heart"

As I read the story I could actually envision it as a SciFi movie; which I love. Angels vs. Demons; good vs. evil and an all consuming love are all wonderful combination for a great read and Ker Dukey did a magnificent job of telling her story and transporting me to a realm where all of this is possible. My Soul Keeper is the first paranormal romance I've read since beginning my romance reads addiction. If My Soul Keeper is any indication of what I've been missing in this genre, I will most certainly be reading more of them.

This Naughty Mom gives My Soul Keeper 5 shining stars and looks forward to exploring more of this romance genre.

This is very different from Ker’s past Novels and I'm quite impressed. I am very picky with my paranormal, very specific, and this isn’t the type I read, but I'm glad I didn’t walk right past it, this one makes my top 3 Para’s of all time.
You get to meet some great main characters. Simone and Leah’s friendship is unique and fun and Leah likes to try and get Simone to step outside the box. You know Leah will always have Simone's back and vice versa. Liam is always looking out for her.
When Simone meets Shamar she is shocked to feel such an immediate attraction for him and feels safe and calm with him. But then there's another hottie Lucas that gets her all hot and flustered, but it's more Lust. She is definitely confused because until now, not even her boyfriend Jake made her body come alive.
We later find out everyone's role and whose protecting are being secretive and going against the rules. She’s been through so much sadness and pain, and now nothing is as is was supposed to be …. Or so she thought. She didn’t know her destiny was already chosen.
Can and will Simone forgive Shamar for having to do his job ? Not to mention the fact that he's getting himself in some major hot water, breaking the rules …
I don’t want to give too much away here so I’ll finish by saying, this was a fabulous read, went very smoothly, and the characters blended together very well. I'm not fond at all of reading about high school kids but Ker made that work for me well. The grammar and spelling are impeccable. Everything made sense and flowed nicely. I'm not stranger to her books and I must say, I've never read one I didn’t love
I highly recommend this book to all Paranormal fans, and even those who aren’t. You will not be disappointed.

I was giving the opportunity to read this before it goes live, and I am so glad I did. You guys will not be disappointed!

Ker has outdone herself again. This is a different read then her last ones but just as amazing. She is such a talented writer and really has you feeling a connection to the story and characters.

My soul keeper is such a beautiful story. I became instantly intrigued from the beginning and started to fall in love with Simone and Shamar.
In the beginning you meet all the main characters and get a feel for who they are and what parts they play, I really enjoyed Simone and Leah's friendship. It was refreshing and fun, Leah is that friend that pushes her to do and try things a little out of her comfort zone but is there to have her back and help her through the tough times. Liam is like her protective older brother and is always looking out for her.
When Simone meets Shamar she is shocked to feel such an immediate attraction for him and feels safe and calm with him. But then there's another hottie Lucas that gets her all hot and flustered, but it's more Lust.
We later find out everyone's role and whose protecting who and which ones are being secretive and going against the rules.
Will Simone be able to forgive Shamar for the job task he has to do? I was definitely feeling a lot if emotions reading their story, I didn't think Simone could handle more sadness, I just wanted things to turn around for her so she could be happy.

"Never look down Simone, only up."

After reading and loving both The Broken and The Broken Parts of us, I was wondering how Ker Dukey made the transition to paranormal writing and how good it would be. I am a huge paranormal book lover and so was hoping that this wasn't going to be the same old story, just retold. Boy, was I wrong. I was blown away.

Right from the beginning, you can tell that this is going to be a really good book. One that rivals many others. I was drawn in from the offset and I devoured this book, I read it with no breaks. I just needed to know how it played out. It was just too good. This book is a captivating story of the battle of good and evil, that walks hand in hand with an amazing love story. I loved how although it was a love story, this didn't take over the book in any way, instead the book revolved around all the characters during this hell on Earth, and each had a role to play in the book.

That being said, I loved the role of Simone. Here is a girl who has gone through some awful and heartbreaking things in her life. It couldn't possibly get any worse, could it? When all hell breaks lose in her life, who will come to help and support her? Who will be the one who she follows? All I will say is that Simone has a higher calling beckoning her, and in this book there are so many twists and turns, whats happening is bigger than them all.. But how will it play out?

Honestly, one of the best paranormal reads I've read this year. It keeps you guessing and holds you till the last page. Hoping for more!

Simone was the average teenager, nice, kind and beautiful, even though she had no clue that she was, had good friends and was dating the most popular guy in school, Jake, the school's starting quarterback. Everything was going perfect in her life until she meets Him at a party, Lucas, the hot guy that sets off all sorts of lust in Simone. Anytime Lucas is around Simone cannot stop the feelings and emotions that try to takeover her body.
Shamar is a soul keeper, his job is to take the souls of babies that were not meant to be there long. They are souls whose purpose are to give humans the necessary push to do great things with their lives. They are there to live short lives for a greater purpose, to guide the destined souls. All is right in Shamar' world until he sees her.
Shamar and Simone gave chemistry like no other, they have this constant pull and attraction to eachother. Could it ever work between them, a soul keeper and a human? Will Simone stay with the teenage dream guy, Jake the quarterback? Or will she runaway with Lucas choosing lust? I loved this book so much. It is so different from what I have read from Ker Dukey previously, but I must say...I really enjoyed this book, even if paranormal isn't my usual first choice.

This book started out a little slow during the first few chapters for me, however after that I could not stop turning pages. It seemed to just flow from one page to the next without needing a break. I really connected with the characters and their emotions. Ker Dukey did an amazing job writing this book so that once the story started it never slowed down. There was just the right amount of detail.

Simone is your average teenager getting ready for adulthood and college until the fates decide to throw her some curve balls along the way. Her journey of discovering who and what she is takes the reader on one heck of a ride. Her life goes from perfect to turned completely upside down in a matter of days. How will she handle it? You will have to read to find out.

Shamar is a keeper of souls. He is in charge of putting young souls into bodies and taking young souls out. He never knew that he could feel real emotions and not just someone else's until she walks into his life. He is very protective.

You also have Simone's best friends Liam and Leah who play major parts in the story. I love Liam he is the perfect man. He is protective of those he considers family and is just a very sweet guy.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

*****(5) Stars

Simone’s entire life changes as she finds out the people she loved and trusted weren’t who she thought they were. She tries to save her brother’s soul from Death while trying to fight the feelings of lust she has for him.

Shamar becomes captivated by Simone, breaking rules to be near her, be with her. When Lucifer comes for Simone, Shamar must decide how far he is willing to go to keep Simone safe.

How Simone deals with her entire world being turned upside from perfect to not-so-perfect and how Shamar deals with the feelings he develops for Simone who is human while he is not will draw you in. The other characters in the book are well written and help develop the story in their own unique way.

I haven’t read her other books yet, but I do have to say how she writes is very compelling. She draws you into her story and just keeps you hooked from the first chapter until the very last word.
She is a must-read author!! I would definitely recommend this book!

Very well done Ker Durkey!

I'm not really in to paranormal books but because I'd read Ker's other books I gave it a try and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it being that its a genre I don't usually like.

I was sucked into the story straight away and loved how all the different types characters interacted with each other and the roles/lives they led. Simone had me spellbound right away, such a pure hearted and wonderful girl who goes through some very emotionally and live changing events and Shamar who charmed his way into my heart by never giving up on himself his loves and his beliefs. No Matter what obstacles are thrown in your path never stop believing the power of fate as what will be will be.

This book has opened my eyes to the paranormal genre and I look forward to reading more along these lines from Ker, an amazing and talented writer

A copy of this novel was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This was a pretty interesting take on Angel & Demon characters for a story.Simone is your average teenager getting ready for adulthood and college until the fates decide to throw her some curve balls along the way.How Simone deals with her entire world being turned upside from perfect to not-so-perfect and how Shamar deals with the feelings he develops for Simone who is human while he is not will draw you in. You have Liam and Leah Simones best friends Who are by Simones side the whole time. Jacob who is Simones boyfriend then ends up her ex boyfriend. They do remain friends. There is so many twist and turns you will get confused if you get distracted. So reading this is best when no one is around. I didn't know what to expect when I started to read this book and all I know I couldnt put it down.

Don't like paranormal but...

I don't usually read paranormal books because lets face it, most of them suck, it's like the plots are written to shock us yet they just leave us saying...huh? Any who if I don't like paranormal then why did I give this obvious paranormal a 5 star rating? Well aside from the fact that it's Ker Fu**ing Dukey... well anyone who reads her books knows she's worthy of more than 5 stars!!!! Again, I don't dislike paranormal per say I just tend not to read them because of how ridiculous the writing is,but this book was amazing.. you meet good and evil, the giver if life, the taker of life, angels, daemons... and on and on... but in the end what wins out? Will it be the good or is it the evil? Want to know? Go on you know you want to, go grab this book and enjoy... happy readings :)

Right Ok I'm normally a fan of paranormal books but I loved Ker's other books so I thought I'd give it a go as she writes so beautifully and I'm so pleased I did.

It's always a good sign when I can't put a book down and surprisingly even though it was paranormal it did just that. This one kept me gripped right throughtout ! The plot was was carefully executed full of twists and turns and the characters were very likeable expecially Sharmar, wow ;-).

Seriously if you haven't given paranormal a go try this book because you won't be disappointed.

Thank you Ker for giving me a really great read.

This book had promise, characters and plot from the blurb drew me in, but I struggled with it. There was just too much happening all at the same time. Usually I enjoy dual POV's but theirs didn't seem to flow easily between the pages...too much angst, far too much drama, the constant chopping, changing characters....confusion rained at times with who was who and where they were and what were they fighting over, bloodshed, knife fights, death, healings.......!!! The epilogue felt unfinished and left more questions than answers and the last sentence.....really??? I love paranormal and dislike when I can't connect with the story, so I was left disappointed with this read.

This is the first book that I have read by the author and I aboustley loved this paranormal novel. I was drawn into the story right from the word go. Loved the two different pov going off in the book and that thought out the book kept on learning more about each charchter in the story.just when thought I had gotten over one shock of a twist and secret reviled, and I knew what was going on somthing else spectacular was reviled.I didn't want this book to end, had me gripped all the way through. I really hope there is more to come from these charchter's.
