I really love this author's books. They are funny, witty & steamy. I loved the main characters - Noelle & Foster. Both strong, both wounded but they needed each other. I laughed & I cried & I loved this book. Can't wait for the other characters to get their own stories.

I really enjoyed this book and I absolutely loved the witty and funny ban-ter between the characters. I sometimes had to laugh so hard it even almost hurt =P
All characters were new to me as I haven't read the Teach Me Series and I have to say that one or two side characters of this book really intrigued me and I'd love to read their stories. This book is a standalone but I asked myself if I would have liked and understood the characters better if I had read the Teach Me Series because I felt that there wasn’t much back-story in this book.
The story touched on some heavy topics and it bothered me a bit that the meaningful and essential parts were too rushed and I couldn’t sympathize with the characters and what they’d gone through because of that. It just missed on some depth and coverage.
Story:
Former Navy SEAL Foster Kavanaugh is still indecisive if it was a good de-cision to hire Noelle Davis or not. She's a great employee but all the naughty thoughts running rampant in Foster's mind are distracting as hell especially because she's off limits.
Noelle Davis has sworn off men but it’s hard not to admire her hot boss with all those hard abs she would love to get a closer look at. But that's something she could never allow herself for obvious reasons and even if he wasn't her boss, he doesn't even like her.
When her new built life suddenly starts to crumble, it's none other than Foster who's helping her and it's getting harder and harder for both of them to resist the sexual attraction crackling between them.
But eventually it's not just her troubled past that keeps them from getting emotionally involved but also Foster's demons which haunt him since his last mission and he has to remind himself getting involved with Noelle is a bad idea because she is too good for him and deserves someone better.
Thoughts:
I fell in love with the story from the beginning but was slightly disap-pointed when it was dragging sometimes.
As mentioned above, I loved the writing and the hilarious parts of this book though I missed some depth of the story.
I really liked the characters but loved Foster the most with his funny and possessive side but also his caring and attentive characteristics. There was lots of sexual tension and some really steamy scenes that I enjoyed in this book.
I was perplexed and quite confused as to why Noelle went to dinner with her boss at his mother's house. I thought that this was weird since they both were so adamant to not get sexually involved with each other because of their employer/employee status.
Although the plot isn't something new as I've read a few similar stories before, I loved it a lot. Foster and Noelle’s banter was the best and I could’ve read about them bickering for days without getting bored. But when things started to get more series I just couldn't keep up with the charac-ters’ emotions because it felt off to me. I wasn't fully involved with them and didn't quite buy into their feelings for each other, especially from Noelle because the few moments I really felt any affections, they came from Foster at his house when they both couldn't sleep.
I enjoyed the lighthearted parts but when it came to the meaningful and troubled moments in this book I felt that they weren't covered to my satis-faction. When Noelle's troubled past catches up with her I liked how Foster cared about her and how he dealt with it but I didn't get enough of No-elle's side to grasp her emotions about any of this which left me emotion-ally empty while reading about everything that's going on.
Maybe the author tried to stay on the lighter side of the story without drifting too much into emotionally deep territory but especially when it came to Foster and his demons I felt just sorry but emotionless otherwise. For such a sensitive person like me was this really weird because I liked the book but felt so closed off to everything going on that it really pre-vented me from caring about the characters.
I guess I just missed some more of the serious conversations and how they really got to know each other and worked things out but it wasn't till the end until I really felt something between them. I loved that at the end there was finally some depth and issues were spoken aloud which have been tiptoed around the whole time.
I was a bit upset that a few story lines were left open by the author be-cause I’m such a curious and impatient person I really wanna know more. So I hope we get another book coming to close off those loose threads.

4.5 stars! I loved the witty banter and explosive chemistry between Foster and Noelle. This was my first time reading RC Boldt, and I fell in love with her addictive narrative and impressive cast of supporting characters that made this book unputadownable. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Love, loss, abuse, guilt, and some acceptance. I smiled and cried. Which for me is rare. I'm a complete book junkie. Sometimes 1 a day, but while reading, even when I'm on the edge of my seat, I know I'm reading, not experiencing first hand. I got totally wrapped up in this story. Emotionally invested. I hope it becomes a series.
The author and I have a shared experience that is part of the storyline. When the person who is supposed to love you, be your safe place, instead abuses you, it breaks something so deep inside that it never heals. Life is split into two parts. Before when I felt safe, and after when no matter how good life and love are, I will never be without some fear. Because I was fooled once, that tiny broken piece reminds me it could happen again. Though I will never know what our soldiers go through (God Bless and protect them as they sacrifice too many pieces of themselves to be the gatekeepers of the evil that walks this earth disguised as humans), I have a long term, sometimes extremely shaky relationship with my PTSD and ability to forgive myself. Events from a lifetime ago will sometimes come roaring back from something as simple as the unexpected sound of a power tool. Leaving me a shaken mess, plagued with nightmares and back into survival mode. I can't imagine how soldiers are supposed to turn off everything inside and be some sort of 'Normal', based on their physical location. In one spot a warrior seeing and maybe doing things we've been programmed to never even think about because the actions are considered so terribly wrong, and 8 hours later get off a plane and suddenly be presented with an entirely different existence. One day somebody is trying to kill you, the next be at a barbeque surrounded by people complaining about traffic jams, and the price of gas. All the while being bombarded with different noises and dealing with the fact that for the most part, nobody is trying to harm them. The very things they had to be hyper aware of to stay alive, like where a person's hands are, and even the slightest movement around them, is now just a guy reaching into his pocket for his wallet, not a weapon, and the noise is just a car pulling in, not the setup for an ambush.
We ask so much from them and give so little back. They deserve more, and we need to do better. Quite transition places to both acclimate to the environment of being home, and ease back into their families and friends. Create an awareness of the issues every single one of them have going from soldier to civilian. Understand as much as we can and never judge them for the actions required of them. Appreciate the pieces of their souls they had to give up to protect us. Give them the support they earned and express gratitude to them. Don't make a single one be ashamed to need help. Let there be enough places to give them whatever help they need, for the rest of their lives, because if the sound of a drill can turn my world on it's side over 20 years after I escaped, image what they have to cope with and sort through. They need friends like Kane who understand them in a way no civilian ever could. A way to keep the bills paid if they're struggling. Even years down the road because as time passes, we view things differently and have to deal with our pasts through different, older eyes. So if the new view causes them to need help, they can take the time they need instead of trying to push through because of money worries. They deserve better, they've earned it because they sacrificed so much for us, and we absolutely must do better. A soldier has a job to do. They don't get the luxury of disagreeing with what they are told to do. They can't decide the job is too stressful and quit. They can't go to personnel and complain about their bosses. They aren't allowed to stop fighting because they don't agree with being at war. Yes they signed up, but nobody can know what the cost is going to be to themselves, when they actually pull the trigger. If it didn't bother them, I'd be far more concerned because they're a Sociopath. Guilt is crushing. We need to lighten their load.
Of course there's so much more to this story than my rant, but you have to read it to find out.

“… you only lose by holding back. Not by loving.”
I get the feeling I say this a lot, but why have I never read anything by this author before? I bleeping loved this story. Full of alpha men, smexy times and heart. What more can any reader ask for, I say?
Both Noelle and Foster are battling their own personal demons – physical and mental. Noelle is on a self-imposed ‘man ban’ after ending her last relationship, and Foster? Well, Foster doesn’t do relationships. Sex *snorts*, yes (psst, very well *coughs*). Relationships? Hell no!
When Noelle’s demon resurfaces, she finds the one man she can count on is Foster:
“There’s nothing in this world I wouldn’t do to protect you.”
Cue exploding ovaries! Oh my gawd, these two together will melt your kindle. Is it hot in here? No????! Sorry, must be me then… phew! And don’t even get me started on Foster’s therapy dog, Harley. I was a goner – heartstrings getting pulled left, right and centre.
As a former Navy SEAL, Foster has experienced things that we can’t even imagine. The horrors that he has witnessed have left an indelible mark on his soul. Mental scars are much harder to fix than the physical ones.
No matter Foster’s denial, Noelle soothes his soul. Foster has a decision to make. To embrace his future, he has to find a way to deal with his past. Some things are too important not to fight for, aren’t they? And at the end of the day, Foster is most definitely a fighter. Even when it comes to fighting himself.
I was a mess after this story. I was up, I was down. I ranted and raved. I was reaching for the tissues one minute, then using the kindle as a fan the next, lol.
Full of colourful characters, I can’t wait to read more in this series!

Out of Love is the newest book by RC Boldt. Like other books by this author it contains a great leading couple and a group of friends and family as secondary characters. Out of Love tells the story of Foster Kavanaugh, who we’ve met briefly in ‘the Teach Me series’ by the same author. This book can be read as a standalone, but I’m glad I have some background information since I read the other series not so long ago.
“I think about her. I think about Noelle Davis and what it would be like if I were that guy. If I were good enough for her. If I didn’t have a past haunting me.”
Foster Kavanaugh is a former SEAL who now owns his own security firm. On his payroll are all former military guys who share his believes and ethics. Foster has seen a lot throughout his military years, things that can alter a man for good. Since he doesn’t do love and commitment, Foster spends his nights with hookups when he feels the need. But lately Foster can’t stop thinking about a certain woman, his office manager Noelle. He knows he’s no good for her (or so he believes) but he can’t stay away.
“I know the facts:
1. Noelle is off limits as my employee.
2. You never s*** where you eat.
3. Noelle is worth her weight in gold since she helps run our office more smoothly than it ever has.”
Noelle Davis has started over. After her last boyfriend turned out to be a sociopath she moved away with the help of the few friends she had left. She enjoys working for Foster and the banter between them, but Noelle starts to see Foster as more, more than just her boss. And that is something she doesn’t want since she knows all about his way with the ladies and don’t forget.. He’s her boss.. But when her past catches up with Noelle, Foster is the first one she calls.
“Facts I need to remember about Foster:
1. He is a manwhore.
2. I work for him.
3. I need my job.
4. He’s super hot.
5. His chest is beautiful.
6. Wait. Where was I going with this? S***.
7. No. Foster is a big NO. No, no, no, noooooo.”
Foster and Noelle spend a lot of time together: they work closely to each other at the office and in the out of the office they share the same friends. When Noelle started working for Foster, he quickly found out she isn’t easily insulted and isn’t afraid of calling him out. And that’s how they fill their days; with friendly insults, funny banter and hard work. Foster and Noelle are attracted to each other, but don’t act on it.
All changes when a ghost from Noelle past comes knocking on her door. Foster’s protective side takes over and Noelle doesn’t even get the chance to say no. Slowly, Foster and Noelle begin a ‘relationship’, but especially Foster has a hard time wrapping his head around the idea he is what Noelle needs. This is a romance book so of course the couple sees the light and ends up together.
While Out of Love starts as a funny, easy read, it becomes more serious when Noelle’s past catches up with her. I was a bit upset with her for not telling Foster sooner what was going on; she knows she can trust him and security is his livelihood… Foster was a bit frustrating as well, it takes him a long time before he can admit he loves Noelle and that he deserves love, despite his past. At the moment, Out of Love is a standalone book, but the author has left some story lines open. I hope they will result in future books.
“Hey,” I whisper softly. “I love you.” “For real?” she whispers in return. “For real.” The brightness of her smile does something to me and I don’t think there’s anything I wouldn’t do to ensure that smile stays in place.”
I’ve enjoyed reading Out of Love, I give the story of Noelle and Foster 4 stars.

Davis and Kavanaugh is the perfect match!

I’m sitting here pulling my hair. I would love to say that this was one of the funniest books I have read in 2016 because it was. It was so funny I almost peed my pants, but the problem is that it was so much more; it is a fantastic love story but it’s also a story about guilt, trust, and it’s a story about what happens if you think you’re out of love.
I’ll try to tell a bit about the storyline, but I sure hope I don’t get carried away, here goes; Foster Kavanaugh is a military veteran. He runs his own security company, and his employees are all veterans, except his office manager Noelle Davis. Kavanaugh is living with the psychological wounds he got from his time served in the war, and he is trying to get by, by working in his firm and working his way through a whole lot of women. But lately, these women have not attracted him as much as they used to because he is crushing a bit ( without admitting it to himself) on Davis, his office manager. Davis is running from her past. A past she doesn’t want anybody to know about. Like a blessing in disguise her past catches up with her and that makes Kavanaugh go into protective mode, and they get to know each other in a whole different way.
This book is hilarious. Do not read it in public if you don’t want people to look at you, like you’re a maniac, trust me; I’m speaking from experience. The banter between Kavanaugh and Davis is so funny, and when all the other characters join in on the fun, it’s impossible not to laugh out really loud.
I really enjoyed the way Mrs. Boldt made Foster and Noelle confide their secret feelings to the reader and the internal conversations were hilarious.
The story had the exact amount of angst for me and hidden in all the funny scenes were some really serious topics and they caught my heart in an iron fist. Topics like moving on with life after getting out of a psychologically abusive relationship and getting on with life after a war that leaves you broken in so many ways, a war so horrible that you can’t sleep at night.
The chemistry between Kavanaugh and Davis were just perfect, and I was hooked on both of them right from the beginning. Mrs. Boldt’s writing is flawless and easy to follow. She writes some wicked, sexy sex scenes and I might just go back and re-read some of them.
This was my first book by RC Boldt, but I can assure you, it won’t be my last.
Thanks to the author for this amazing advanced copy.
And if you're wondering, Yes I loved it so much, I just had to buy a copy.
