Not even Oprah Winfrey could find the words to express the sadness surrounding Bobbi Kristina Brown’s dire condition.

The Oscar-nominee was on the verge of tears when a photographer informed her that doctors have recommended removing Brown from life support.

“There aren’t any words right now,” Winfrey said to a group photographers gathered outside Lucques restaurant in West Hollywood, CA on Friday. “It’s a sad time,” she added solemnly.

While Winfrey admits she wasn’t personally close to the Houston family, she says her friend Tyler Perry has been “instrumental in trying to help Bobbi Kristina.” Perry was also “really supportive of Whitney [Houston] when she had her troubles,” according to Winfrey.

The talk show host dismissed any correlation between the timing of Bobbi’s hospitalization and her mother’s overdose, saying “I don t believe there’s any irony in the timing, because it’s just been three years [since Houston’s death.]”
