E!Caitlyn Jenner takes New Orleans!
It's party time on Sunday night's all-new episode of I Am Cait as Caitlyn and her girlfriends take a detour to The Big Easy to let their hair down and meet up with a very special guest: Kris Jenner!
Despite a little bit of tension between the exes at dinner, Kris blends in perfectly with Cait's squad, and everyone ends up having a wild and wonderful time.
Recap the latest episode of I Am Cait with these five must-see moments!
1. The Surgery Debate: After Kate Bornstein admits she doesn't mind when people ask if she's had gender confirmation surgery, Candis Cayne disagrees. "I think your privates are your privates, and I don't want to discuss my genitals with anybody, and I don't want anybody asking about mine," she says. "There's so much more to talk about."
In her confessional, Caitlyn says, "Gender confirmation surgery is something I think anybody in my position, or the girls' position, of course you look in to. For me, I have no idea what the future holds, but it is really interesting to listen to all the girls because when it comes to this, every person has a different way to be authentic to themselves."
On the bus, Ella Giselle chimes in and adds, "I think for different people it might be different, but personally me, I always say, well really if I'm going to get it it's for the reason I want to wear a bathing suit and not have to worry about certain things."
"But you can put on a bathing suit now, mama, and rock it," Chandi Moore tells her. "Right!"
2. Here Come the Brides: Once they arrive in New Orleans, the girls decide to spontaneously pop inside a bridal boutique to try on wedding dresses for fun. "I'm going to do it. Why not?" Candis asks. "I've never tried on wedding dresses." Caitlyn responds, "Neither have I!"
"For me, trying on this wedding dress, I kind of am seeing it as a little bit of an affirmation of what I could possibly want have happen to me," Candis confesses. "For almost all of existence, that wasn't even an option for trans women."
Then, Caitlyn walks out and surprises herself when she looks in the mirror. "Did I ever think this day would come? No," she explains. "I've been at three weddings with the most boring clothes on in life. Finally, I get to wear something comfortable."
3. Kris Comes to Town: Kris arrives in New Orleans to spend the evening with Cait and her friends, but the exes experience several ups and downs before the night is over. Everything begins on a positive note with Kris and Caitlyn joking with each other, and Candis comments, "It's nice that you guys are laughing and are together as friends."
But the dinner takes a more serious tone when Kris denies knowing about Cait's gender issues early on in their relationship. "There was no, 'I am transgender,'" Kris says. "It was, 'I took some stuff in the 80s, and my sperm isn't good.'" However, Cait begs to differ.
"I said I had a condition that I've been dealing with forever," Caitlyn responds. "I said that I was on hormones, and that's the reason it might be tough to get pregnant. I certainly told her what was going on. I certainly said I had gender issues, and I was on hormones, and I had boobs and the whole thing."
4. Bourbon Street Boogie: After dinner, the ladies go out for a little dancing at the Bourbon Cowboy. Cait lets loose while dancing with Kris, and Chandi and Jenny Boylan make their way to the main stage to flaunt their moves. "Never in a million would I think going out on the dance floor to dance with Jenny Boylan," Chandi says. "That's being checked off my bucket list. Jenny Boylan was feeling herself. Oh, she was feeling herself." LOL!
Meanwhile, Candis and Kris have a sweet bonding moment over at the bar. "I'm so happy that you guys are a great group of girls," Kris says. "I'm glad I came and I got to see and meet you guys. It's so awesome." Candis replies, "I'm glad you came. It means a lot to us and to Caitlyn. I know she doesn't say it sometimes, but I know you mean the world to her."
Later, in her confessional, Kris reflects, "What I've witnessed here tonight firsthand, I never would have imagined that [Caitlyn] could experience this kind of friendship and happiness, and I think that that's what life is all about. Life is really short, and I think that you have to go out and grab your true purpose. I think that she's well on her way."
5. Kiss, Kiss: On the ride back to the hotel, Kris can't stop singing Caitlyn's friends' praises. "You guys have all gotten a major 10 from me," she says. "I think you're all so delicious and pretty fab. I can't wait to see you guys again, I mean that." She also jokes, "Not you, Jenner, just your friends!" In a shocking move, Cait responds to the dig by planting a big wet one on Kris while the everyone in the van claps and cheers!
Back in the room, Cait decides it would be a good idea to have a one-on-one conversation with Kris to help clear the air. "There's really a lot I want to get off my chest with Kris," she says. "The girls have taught me a lot on this trip about being kinder, gentler. I just hope I don't kind of resort to the old habits of being defensive and loud. I've got a lot to say, and I'm afraid if I don't have it now, I'll probably never have the conversation."
